hi all

on Thursday one of the farmers rang me and told me that the night before (Wednesday) they had put the lambs out in the field only to find that in the morning there had been a attack on some of the lambs one had been killed and mostly eaten and two others had been mauled .. he had mention the week before to come down and drop any foxes that i seen... that resulted in two very large dog foxes so i thought the worst had been taken ..

i told him i would be down that night to see if i could find the little monkey. after a hour of mooching around i came to the bottom end of the sheep field- looking at them little lambs you can see why the fox prays on them , they are so small week and very defenseless . i had a quick scan and the he was making his way into the field i dropped to the deck are gladly sent a 243 right to his chest...

i cut his gut open to find that it was full of fur and bits of flesh so i was 100% i had hit the one or one of the killers

also a quick brief wright up on my new lamp .. im very impressed with it its a crelant 7g5cs and has a awesome beam for such a compact torch . i hit that fox at 122 yards and could see him clear as day. it takes two battery into its body so no wires to heavy acid battery it clips right onto scope good for solo work its small lightweight and well made . i would say i could see a fox well enough to shoot at 200 250 yards and eye shine for double that that's a fair shot at night but most of my foxes are within 150 i can see fine at that..

it really does make life that bit easier i would recommend one im nearly ready to leave the lightforce 170 at home now

Good set up, and well done on getting the fox. :good:

+1 !

whilst out & about this morning clearing this white **** so Mrs Sim can go to work, I noticed some fresh tracks, indicating we have an addition to the "herd" here....if it is charlie, then a .243 will be heading its way quite soon, i think....

+1 for ant supplies too

Well done - good work.

Dead lamb killer = happy farmer.

You shoot one fox and another replaces them. Bad news for the farmer but good news for you. Some people think you shot the `wrong one` but it's just another one moving in.

As for the torch - Cree LED's are great. I have a couple of much smaller Chinese imports that work on both my mountain bike and scope mount. About 180 lumens I think. I met a bloke last week who sells LED bulbs in the UK for striplights, GU10's etc. It was amazing how many types of bulb there are from `blue light` to natural `daylight`. Apparently it's something to do with Kelvin(s) :)
