WezC
People might already know, but it seems Lanber have gone into administration. I phoned GMK (the importers) to find out about getting a 2098 model new, and was told no, as they are going :( Now which gun will I buy, I only wanted to change so I could get a 30" barrel instead of the 28" I have. (Yes , I Know, I have only had this one six weeks) I liked the Lanber fine and can't see the point in paying 500 quid more for anything else just for the gun snobbery ( met this already) . Let's hope the parts don't become hard to find, might cause me an issue in the future. Wez.
Cannon
It's a shame. Lanber shotguns are spot on. I always found them easy for new shooters to pick up and use without any problems. The same could be said for many other manufacturers, but for the price Lanbers were well rounded guns.
aris
Hopefully another larger and better financed company will pick up the pieces and carry on manufacturing.

fabarm gamma boy
that is a shame iv had lanbers in the past and must say a great gun for the money! they have been going since the 50s! a sad shame
HDAV
Berretta could buy them, but why they have their own factories.....would be interesting to know why.
aris
Someone could buy them and just have Lanber as another one of their sub-brands. For instance a higher end gun maker looking to break into the lower end of the market, without eroding their brand name.
throdgrain
I've never owned one bujt always heard they were a good gun for reasonable money. Shame.

aris
I wonder how this affects their 5 year guarantee - and spare part availability.
DaveyTed
I wonder if GMK will now start pushing Franchi. Similar cost and Franchi are part of Beretta as are GMK, i understand.

I suspect they will the Franchi is a nice gun as well and has Beretta back up so should be around awhile. Shame quite liked the Lanbers though. R_Hawlwy
Just bought a sporting deluxe 2 months ago looks like that 5 year warranty wasn't much of a selling point
HDAV
You say it is rubbish because? Why did Webley go bust? not sure why they went bust uncompetitive but some of the crud ( autos particularly) are rubbish! At least hatsan are honest and not trying to hide/ride on someone else's past glory.......it's a shame venom couldn't make it work, simple answer is market was too small they didn't move with the times and beretta/browing swallowed the mid range clay market and AYA the mid level game market. Like most brittish industry it was too uncompetitive look at the rest of our manufacturing.

SakoQuad
It will be interesting to see if GMK will deal with the warranty. It was them that did some work under warranty on my Beretta.
