carrion crows over decoys

Recommended Posts

Hi guys, noticed the crows were hitting the farmers barley pretty hard over the week, so found myself a few spare hours yester day and set up in the feild! set up using around 20 flocked decoys with a good 4ft space between in the pattern! And my faithfull primos crow caller!(deadly) After 5-10mins they came in, got some great shots in very pleased! Total bag 36crows and 2 woodies 6 of the carrions landed in brambles so were never retreived!

Was due to go out today following sowing of Barley yesterday but it was decided ground was still too 'clumpy'(landowners words, not mine) so possibly later this week.Still exceedingly cold wind coming straight off the Fells in the Eden Valley.

Have been practising the various calls with my newly aquired Primos caller(though am still not totally convinced I haven't been sold the 'duck' version!) and can't wait to try it.

Good bag. :good:

hi mate, In about a months time the young birds will be on the wing some a little later, a good time to get stuck into them before they wise up! The primos is the best going but does take some getting used to! I wouldnt go shooting without mine now! Good luck when you get yourself out fella! Atb
