I think any person who is taught correctly realises right from wrong, normally if people are unsure they seek advice from someone they trust and has more life experience. This can be put into many scenarios e.g. shall I open this valve marked up as do not open?, shall I speed at 100mph even tho everyone says not to? Shall i jump in front of this bus to see what happens? Shall I look at porn on the internet and assume every woman wants it every way she can all the time?

People are born one way or another... If your a criminal then your a criminal... If your decent then your decent..

Firstly this is just a populist attempt at garnering political goodwill, with an election less than two years away and the country still in the **** state that "New" Labour left it in, Cameron is doing whatever it takes to get the Sheeple on his side.

Secondly, it is my responsibility to raise my child, not the states, the government are employed by me as a tax payer to look after the country, not to rule it. I am a responsible parent and do not need halfwit politicians to tell me how to run my life.

Thirdly this is now the overt start of state control and reduction of freedoms. Next thing will be that do gooders will decide that kids seeing pictures of guns or positive portrayals of guns and shooting will turn children into school shooting spree killers, so for the good of our children all shooting related websites will be blocked. You can of course opt out, but then you will go on a database and be viewed as a potential Anders Brevick. Next they will decide that websites that do not display the latest PC attitudes will turn our kids into hate filled bigots, so for their safety anything that is not pro-gay, pro-multicutural or pro the next fad will be banned, you can of course opt out and choose to receive them, but then you will need to go on a spreadsheet with the rest of the extremists. Foreign news websites will be next, as they can be critical of the state and can't have their content controlled they have the potential to turn our children into terrorists, so to protect our children they'll be blocked, you can of course opt out, but then you'll go onto a spreadsheet with the other terrorists and subversives.

Before you know it there'll be a Ministry of Truth changing history and anything outside of what the government decides will be enough to have you in prison.

Spot on!. If these plans go ahead it will only be the shape of things to come. This child/violent porn excuse is just a way of gaining public support and giving them consent to start dictating what we can see or hear. Edited by Trevorevans

How would internet blocks work in practice block anything titled "illegal kiddie porn"? its completely unworkable they would have to vet every file uploaded to the internet and that is impossible. They may as well licence cameras for all the good it will do. Dont forget that most child abuse is caused by the childs own parents which again makes these proposals defunct.

But child pornography is already illegal and rightly so, in fact I don't think they go far enough in punishing these people when they are caught. However they're just using those examples to gain public support. I think we're on a totally different subject really because they want to prevent people accessing ALL types of quite legal pornography unless they sign up to some kind of pervert register, 'cause that's what people will consider it as. And as I have said before it will open the flood gates to banning other stuff 'THEY' think you shouldn't see weather it's legal or not.

Punnished enough not at all, were I work these pervs are still aloud access to porn cause that's there human right.

Apart from a few cases you have the cart before the horse. Porn can lead to addiction and eventually satiation and this leads to more extreme pornography, possibly child porn.

Rubbish, that's like saying you start by shooting clays then progress to shooting people.

Maybe I don't want someone to tell me whether or not I can watch pornography ?

Maybe I don't want someone to tell me what I have to eat for breakfast

- What car I have to drive

- What job I have to work

- What team I have to support

- What I have to give

- Where I have to go and what I have to do

I am a grown man. I can make my own decisions. If I ever have children and don't want them to come across porn on the internet then I will step up with my responsibilities are a parent and install software that is freely available to filter that sort of stuff.

I don't like this idea that people can look into what I am always doing and can tell me what I should and shouldn't be doing

Like a lot of things, if it wasn't abused then it wouldn't be banned!

The problem is there is animal porn, child porn, snuff porn and god knows what else that is illegal and involves non consenting individuals. Yes that should be banned along with other extreme porn and sexual preferences re porn people have!
