docholiday
been out stalking most nights recently and had seen this sika which I wanted to get some shots of, so left the rifle at home and took these Thought I would just stick these up, taken at 7pm last night, light was very poor but I wanted to try and get something for anybody interested went to iso 3200 for 1000 sec shots, not the greatest but I was amazed that the camera could produce such pics in very dark conditions Father and son ?? dont often see them interacting like this Sika pricket, still in velvet getting rely bugged by the flies good looking lad a fallow pricket, much more wary than the two sika

Great photos doc have to say,(and two wrongs don't make a right) that if there was FC shooters nearbye, I'd be very tempted to take that stag. He's a cracker and too nice to get shot under a lamp.. Its an ongoing problem we take about 8 sika stags a year and about 12 hinds, put that alongside 100 plus fallow and still the fallow are numerous, I thing because they are safe on our land about 1000 acres they dont wander to much. we keep trying to get a good healthy sika herd and are doing ok but all you can do is try,

adam f
Lovely picks. My favourite deer the Sika. I love the dark winter coat but rarely get to see the lighter summer coat these have. Great head gear on the stag too.
