HI,

some pictures from our region.

This year is a bit nasty. During spring we had a lot of rain, the south part of Germany was in great parts flooded and the temperatures were freezing what caused great losses at our partridges.

After that the wild boars took over and turnd most of the not very well grown corn fields in a kind of battlefields

Many fields looked like this on

Others even disappeared in between 2 weeks

The revenge was merciless but until today the wild boars have their nose in front.

My daughter (9) takes a strange interest in these sort of pics , maybe she has never known anything else she is at the side of me and says the pics are cool and has just wished for a slice of that (pig on a stick) as she has called hog roasts for several years....

Good work fella, how did you get the hair off, did you plunge it or something?

Hi Ack-Ack,

1. we used a high pressure cleaner to get rid of all the dirt
2. we used a lot of boiling water produced in here
http://bild5.qimage.de/wurstkessel-bruehkessel-waschkessel-foto-bild-69471415.jpg
and the boar was in a big bathtub
3.Big chain with two handles at each end of the chain below the boar in the hot bath and pulling to every side.
4.with a sharp knife shaving the skin
5. Than something of this stuff
http://de.wikipedia.org/wiki/Kolophonium
and a tool which I couldn't find in the web at the moment. Looks like a cowbell with a sharp rim and a hock on the other side

6. again hot water and and shaving

Nice pics but are you having to pay compensation for the damage as seems to be the way with some hunting leases in Germany?

Thats some serious crop damage, how much compensation will you have to pay to the farmer?

The hunters in Germany rent the right for hunting on the ground from the landowners minimum something around 210 ha in one piece or from one landlord about 82ha in one piece. In the past and still today most of the contracts state that the hunter has to pay 100% of the damage in the field or the forest caused by hoofed game, rabbits and pheasants no other animal like geese and pigeons.
With changing situations in Germany (more and more biogas plants, more and more wild boars, less hunters ...) hunters and farmers sometimes agree to limit the maximum to be paid damage costs or divide them by 50/50 etc.
Above pictures are from two fields:
1. Picture: The hunters and farmers agreed a maximum limited to be paid in case of such a game damage (it is affordable but hurts)
2. Picture: They are liable for all damages and will have to pay about 1400 up to 1500 Euros/ha (the corn wasn't that good)
