Is this ok for clays and knocking a few pigeons over ?...its got fixed 1/4 and 1/2 and is 28" barrels. welshwarrior
686 special is a earlier model and IMHO a better made gun than a modern SP1, if it's in good condition you've a good gun. The guns fine for sporting clays and most quarry as well. Fixed chokes will stop you playing with them. Now go and enjoy shooting your new toy. WW. Shooterluke
Yep the chokes in the gun are all you need for clays an vermin doubt you will encounter a clay what needs more than half choke Regards luke

Scully
My very first shotgun was a 686S fixed at 1/4 and 1/2. Great little gun for both clays and quarry.
berettadevon
ive got the Beretta Ultralight with 28" barrels and is multi choked, even tho this is a game gun i use it for everything!!! when i bought it, it had 3/4 and full choke in . . . . . soon had them out and slipped in the 1/4 and 1/2. these chokes only ever get removed from the barrels when im cleaning after every use. with this choke set up and loaded with express power blues (28g 7.shot) clays at my local sporting clay ground get turned into clouds!!! even the pigeons up farm dont like the set up lol!!!!!!
