ME
After visiting all the sofas places for ages we couldn't find what we wanted. We ended up in a local upholstery company who are making our design of sofa from scratch for not a lot more than an off the shelf model from DFS. I chose all the measurements even down to the 10 inch wide flat arms to rest my laptop on
figgy
ME you sure them arms are only for your laptop. Figgy
Gordon R
We had settled on a suite from a large store, but the salesman went off to answer his phone. We looked through the catalogue, whilst he was away and got the makers details. We visited the factory on the way home and got it for less than half price. Being ex furniture industry I knew all the prices, always worried me when you saw how much mark up they got back then. Know some places are really knocking their mark up down to make sales at the moment but when I was in the trade people all were in their Jag's enjoying themselves. Squinting shot
Just don't buy any sofas with fibre filled cushions as they are gonna go flat very quickly. If you buy a fixed seat sofa make sure you sit on each side alternately or you will end up with 1 soft cushion and a hard one. Other that that you should be ok. I do upholstery for a living. Good luck

Ricko
I have two brown leather Chesterfield 3 seaters, my parents bought them in the early 80s, still look good now.
rimfire4969
Last sofas we bought were online from Sofa Sofa. We bought a 4 seater, 3 seater and a 2 seater all in leather for the lounge. That was about 6 years ago and we are very pleased with them.

norfolk dumpling
We're on our second set of DFS sofas. This first (2x2.seaters) did 10yrs with us, a further 4 with our daughter and then onto another person and may still be out there somewhere. Second is another 10yrs old and looking good but wife now bored with it so guess where we will look first.
sishyplops
Multiyork , we've got 4 of them, 1 was second hand, 1 was custom built and 2 were from the sales showroom, the stuff is fantastic, solid beech frame unlike DFS chipboard
39TDS
M&S three seater sofa as new off ebay for £14. Also got a matching one plus two armchairs, also pretty much as new, also off ebay for £34. I somehow think that might not be what you were thinking of though.

Vince Green
When my ex-wife and I first got married we paid an absolute fortune for a suite that didn't last anytime at all. Since then my view of suites has been the same as my subsequent view of women. Don't spend a lot and replace when they get a bit saggy Edited July 20, 2015 by Vince Green
Chris Bb
The thread is over a year old.... It's lasted longer than most SCS garbage, then. I would be really upset at taking out extended credit where I only started paying for something after I'd taken said item to the tip.
