Paddy Galore!
is it me or is that place just full of tyre kickers and chancers? I advertised my van on there last week, I've had several offers but no one has even come out to see the damn thing, the last bloke said, "if you get stuck I've got 750 waiting, I don't care about the MOT." What a cock!

HDAV
I have got some real bargains off gumtree of some genuine people not vans mind, and each time paid the asking price in cash...
Mentalmac
I advertised my car on there once for 3k and kept getting offers of 1000. Just said no way too much and cancelled ad
BattleFieldRelics
Eventually sold my iphone through it but had 3 previous scam attempts. Thought i'd do the right thing and ring the government fraud line when the first one happened, to report it. Had a phone bill for £1.88 for reporting it. Never bothered to report the other two. No doubt fraud statistics are lower now along with all those others.............. Edited May 20, 2014 by BattleFieldRelics

Paddy Galore!
but it just seems like everyone so far is a few brain cells short, I bought the caddy through gumtree but I wanted to see it first. who do you reckon is responsible, dealers or ******? edit to say, in the past I've had some really good deals with the travelling community, so I take that back, my apologies to those concerned. maybe it's immigrants Edited May 20, 2014 by Paddy Galore! Lord Geordie
Got to admit! I did very well on gumtree recently! Got a MEC super 600 "a 650" really. and a MEC case conditioner for £50 all in. Bought my Rapido recordmatic caravan off there too!
kdubya
Used gumtree a couple of times been well pleased with the deals, last one was a leather topped computer desk, absolute bargain at £50, and when I went to collect, part of it would not fit in the car so the seller followed me back home with it I now use it (as you can see) to keep the left right? Thunderbird
is it me or is that place just full of tyre kickers and chancers? No it isn't you, and yes it is. But not 100% full. But it's a bear-pit and you have to have greater then normal care. Ebay x 100. @Kdubya, you could really do with a new chair to go with that desk. Slogger
Sold my old berlingo on there within 30 mins of the advert going live ...The price has to be right or else you get a lot of chancers ...I like the gumtree and I have had loads of bargains The wanted section works really well too
Big Al
I have bought and sold a fair bit on it ranging from a static caravan to a car, from a kayak to a multigym. Yes you get tyre kickers, but I've sold everything. I bought my dog trailer on it, and am looking for a boat on it I love it.
stokie
A lot of scrotes use it to shift stolen gear because there's no traceability . Buyer beware

Chris Bb
I dont understand gum tree I emailed and texted 6 people selling paving slabs and got not 1 reply. I think there may be a problem, I've been contacted by about six people trying to buy something I'm trying to sell. I reply via their secure system that the item is still for sale then hear no more. Try using phone contact instead, if available. Edit: Just had an e-mail from Gumtree saying that I've had no e-mail replies to my ad when, in fact, I've had several. Hamster
I only ever buy via ebay, well nearly, have sold a couple of items but bought dozens. Tried Gumtree to list our cars for a few months because it is free to start with and it is ten times worse than ebay for mentally challenged chancers.
