My first semi was a Teknys, and the action peeled badly on it, GMK did not want to know about mine or though i think they did take some back, i now use a Benelli M2 , its my main hide gun but will happily crush clays as well, i have not been tempted to px it for any thing else, which is unusual for me.

the teknys shiny actioned guns were terrible for peeling and bubbling, thats why they done the later ones in a stonecoat finish

Think they all do the job. Go browning, beretta, winchester or benelli and you can't go wrong really.

Used to shoot a browning gold which did the job every time -never gave me trouble-, now have a new browning a5 -great gun for me, better than a maxus imho. But I wouldn't be sad to shoot a maxus on a day to day basis either. Tried the winchester sx3, but wasn't my thing. Extremely fast repeating action though! Fastest I ever shot in a shotgun. I like inertia driven guns, but others really like the gas operated guns. I would suggest you try both systems before you buy.

Do not see them mentioned much but the Remington Versamax is a very good auto, I have been very pleased with mine had it around a year now and am still waiting for my first jam despite putting a few thousand cartridges through it now , it is also very easy to clean.

Jay-Zee, can I suggest you put your location in your profile, county or even better your town would help. I've got a Beretta AL391 Urika2 that I'm about to put up for sale but I'll only do it face to face (really can't be ***** with RFD to RFD).

Drop me a pm if you're interested and within about 100 miles of Warrington.

You could buy a beretta Urika 2 and you would have a gun that will serve you well and be ultra reliable and not lose any money when you sell it on . Or you could buy 4 hatsan escorts , for the same money .1 to use ,1 in the menders , 1 for spares and one for a forge poker . The choice is yours .

I've ended up with a nice AL391 Teknys, I spoke to the guy in the shop about all guns spoken about on here. I ended up down to theAL391 or a A300 Outlander. The guy in the shop told me I could buy a new 300 for the price of the AL but in a year of owning the 300 would lose 3 or 4 times the value the AL would lose. To be honest from reading and looking around the AL was the one I wanted from the start.

Thanks for all your help and advice.

Sorry Harnser, you got it slightly wrong..

You would need two at the menders, they'd all end up as forge pokers or gate hinges.
