spandit
Shot a young rabbit this evening. The noise as the bullet hit it was louder than my .22 without the mod! I'm using low noise RWS subs too, which from my semi only have about 65ftlbs at the muzzle. It's a good noise when you hit them cleanly, illustrates how much power these little rifles have
Blunderbust
What is the point of the question, you seem to know what you have asked?
TIGHTCHOKE
Rhetorical question!
spandit
It was more of a wry observation than a genuine question, I admit.

Muddy Funker
It's easier on the shooters ears with a mod, doesn't wind up the neighbours ect.As for the quarry yeah in my experience it's pretty pointless, bunnies seems less bothered by the crack of an hmr than the thump of a 22 hitting it's mate. spandit
According to the Hawke BRC, my 65ftlbs is still over 50ftlbs at 50yards, no wonder they go down with a thump! I'm not going to stop using the mod, just thought it funny how much noise it made hitting the quarry
Harnser
You should hear the noise that a .308 makes when it hits a deer . Sounds like somebody beating a carpet . Or see the spray or dust come off them when struck . Harnser
magman
So your mod or mod's will be up for sale soon then ?
spandit
So your mod or mod's will be up for sale soon then ? For the .22LR, no. For the .223.... maybe. It's no nicely balanced without it, although my neighbours might complain!

Amazed
That's why I settled for the lightest smallest mod I could find.
Davyo
Don't know if rabbits are bothered about the thump of one of their mates been hit.often when out with the NV I shoot a group of rabbits picking them off one by one.Somtime they are in tight groups and it amazes me every time, that when the first one goes down the others just hang around. The biggest group I shot like this was 9,all within about 6 sq mtrs.Makes for a very quick night Edited August 24, 2014 by Davyo
Gunman
I was in a Belgian gun work shop a couple of years back watching a man fit claw mounts to a three shot self loading 9,3 x74r game rifle and I asked if they fitted many moderators as it was something I was doing a lot of at the time . No no not allowed here ,very bad trouble he assured me .
spandit
For all our gun laws, we're one of the few countries that allows moderators for free...
Kalahari
If they would put rifles into section two, they could lock up moderators for ever as far as I am concerned! David.
