steveyg
it was only twelve pigeons but...really enjoyed this afternoon. Its been a really hectic week at work and looking after the wife after her op so it was great to get out this afternoon. There is nothing more relaxing than sitting in a hide...waiting for that pigeon to decoy I love this sport.... :good:

He is very keen indeed , but thats still 88 short of his target Rule 36c of pigeon shooting Stevie , no point in setting targets as pigeon cannot read

I am sure it will happen when you least expect it , thats often the way but as long as your enjoying it then what does the bag matter . There would be few of us nutters go wildfowling if we just wanted to shoot big bags , its about enjoying the whole experience Bet you would. wise words indeed Motty

marsh man
Never worry about the size of the bag Steve . I have often had some of my best days with bags that only reached double figures , but I could remember each one I have shot . Once you have got your 100 you will remember the day but you wont remember all the birds you shot , some you might but a lot will be the run of the mill shots that apart from making the bag wernt good enough for you to remember . Like Motty says you come off the marsh with one duck and you are over the moon and it stays in your memory bank . I must have had many 100s of blank days on the marsh and on the odd occasion when I could have made a big bag I have stopped shooting when I have had enough . I have now a self imposed limit of ten duck which I very rarely get and I have never shot the limit of Geese our club impose . I stopped at five one night when it was 6 and it is now 4 and I find if I get 3 its more than enough. So enjoy whatever you get Steve and with your keenness you will get your personable target but shooting live quarry is a lot more to it than a numbers game.........Leave that for clay pigeons .
