Peskyfoxs
and depending on where you live and where you buy from they may or may not have to be entered on your certificate
Alycidon
and depending on where you live and where you buy from they may or may not have to be entered on your certificate Please expand on this, as far as I was aware V Max are expanding and need entering onto the buyers cert in England. A Max on the other hand are rated as target bullets and dont. A
seeker
Have a read of the Home Office Guidance on Firearms Licensing 2014 sec 3.21-3.23 and chap 4. Seems reasonably clear on what they think should happen but does not deal with 'cos that's the way we do it round ere'. And for local clarification of your Forces interpretation ... email your licensing office. Cambridgeshire actually put on their web page that they 'follow the manual', which probably is why they are easy to deal with, and nice helpful people too. There a pinned link in the General section of this very helpful site ... Edited October 15, 2014 by seeker

A If you go to a shop in Manchester they don't enter them on your fac as Manchester police do not count v max bullets as a round until it's made up into a fully functioning projectile (my ticket say buy 150 .243 but I could go buy 1000 v max in Manchester and they would not be entered on fac) West yorks where I live however count the bullet as one round in your allowance Crazy but true
seeker
Looking at the book vmax are expanding and count to your total buy/posess limit allowance ,whether loaded or not, and seem only to need to go on cert if you have the expanding condition for several calibres .. That looks like W.Yorks 👍 ... Manchester Shop 👍 ... Manchester Police ❓. Person buying/holding over permitted limit of expanding bullets/loaded cartridges ... 👎 Probably becomes an issue when things go wrong ... malkiserow
I now have separate categories for bullets ( heads) and cartridges ( made up rounds).
wymberley
I now have separate categories for bullets ( heads) and cartridges ( made up rounds). That makes perfect sense and is covered in Chap.3 Item 3.23 of the reference in Seeker's Post #6 - as this is the latest up to date (October 2014) info', worth pinning perhaps? Dougy
So why do you have to state on your application "ammo allowance" Its very grey or are those just molly
varminter pb
Having been here before with Cambridgeshire, you list out your 'ammunition allowance' and separately a 'missile' allowance, yes.... That what we are told to enter them as, and this is how they are listed on one's certificate.
Bewsher500
ACPO decided to nationalise the interpretation of Section 5 bullet purchase and allowance well over a year ago any RFD not complying with it and selling VMax (sec 5) without entering them into the corresponding FAC section is in breach of the rules on Sect 5 ammo I have not seen an FAC that varies from one county to another Are you saying your FAC has two slots one for ammo and one for section 5 bullets? because that is against what they decided a year or so ago
hawkeye
The last time i bought vmax the gunshot said they did not need to put them on my ticket unless i wanted them to... They were put on it just shows i buy them now and then... A max i don't bother to put them on ticket...
fieldwanderer
I was under the impression they were made to fragment, not expand - just to be pedantic, so they're not expanding.....
