Scrumbag
Love my Scooby Impreza. Gets me to shooting and fishing promptly and reliably and lots of space with the seats down. Next time might go for the diesel though.
joknob
My Honda accord type r was an awesome car, yet to find a car more fun to drive. But I think my favourite has to be my mk1 pajero short wheel base, fantastic shooting truck. prelude vti,1998,what a beaut. craig

fieldwanderer
prelude vti,1998,what a beaut. craig I had a 1993 prelude that I converted from a 2.0 auto to a 2.2 vtec manual, I was a mechanic at the time and worked for a Honda specialist so knew my way around 'em. Fantastic looking car - previous owner had put fancy skirts and wheels on it and really made a nice job of it (i.e. not chavved, looked like it should have been made that way). It didn't hang about either but was getting a bit expensive to run at the time. I think my favorite has been my vauxhall signum though, 1.9cdti but I got it remapped to 200bhp, looks nice (to me) nice to drive, reliable and bags of space, not to mention lots of toys for the money. But, I'm using my faithful disco td5 for the winter and considering selling both for something newer, possibly a newer 4x4 but also thinking about getting a petrol car as I work nights and feel guilty getting home in the early hours with the td5, it's quiet for what it is but will never be as quiet as a petrol. Thunderbird
I had a 'new shape' (at the time) Saab 900 in 1994, that was a great car and the first one I had got with air con. When you see them now on the road they look so angular and ungainly so it's hard to believe they were considered a very 'cool' car at the time. I might look into a Subaru next actually. We had the rounder shape 95N for a couple of years, I can understand people who fuss over them but despite it's 2.3 ltr engine it wasn't particularly fast and it definitely was a handful in the handling department, poor chassis. I can't remember what engine mine was (was a company car), 2L I think. I'd had a couple of 3 series BMWs before and I much preferred the Saab. I had heard the 95 was a bit of a boat compared to the 900.

They still are cool! Especially the 900 turbo. A good condition Saab 900 turbo with the wrap around windscreen and all that Saab quality and quirkyness is already a classic. Good to see so much Subaru appreciation on here. I keep my forester because it does so many things well. I have the 2.5 turbo engine that has had some bad press, but mine has done over 114k and continues to be reliable despite a near 50% power hike. Thunderbird
Brown Sauce on here had a bloody fast Subaru a few years ago and he took me on the most hair-raising ride of my life in it. Then we drove his car quite fast.
Browning 425 clay hunter
My favourite was a 90' ford fiesta RS Turbo. I'd done a few bits to it and had it running 260bhp. Completely unreliable but as mad as a box of frogs. Also my current E46 BMW 330ci, quick lazy cruiser with all the toys, and paid less than 2k. Rupert
01 Golf GT Tdi, was the most surprising, right at the beginning of the turbo diesel tidal wave it caught me at the right time coming out of a impreza turbo terzo, I was won over by the quick but not rapid performance and the mid fourties mpg, have run turbo diesels ever since upto my current BMW 330d which is just amazing torque and will give 47/52 mpg with my mainly motorway driving.Like it that much im swapping for a newer 330d next week. button
Cooper S is the latest favorite weekend car, great fun. The RS Fiesta in the mid 90's is a very close second! Edited December 29, 2014 by button

Ex NATO staff car. It had been worked on went like its @&£! Was on fire. Wonderful car. Got to know many, many, plod on first name terms. " glad you stopped" was a common greeting as I remember!! Then a 2 litre Sieara sapphire , body kit , alloys. A right bird puller, happy days.
norfolk dumpling
SAAB 9-3 Sportwagon - most comfortable, most economical and the car I've kept the longest. Only got rid of it when GM screwed them and spares became impossible to source. Regret selling as spares issue disappeared 12 months after I moved on to an X Trail. FinFerNan
A few of my previous favourites: My 1st car - 1966 Hillman Imp. It was a bunch of ****, but I loved it. Skipping on a few years, I had a 1991 1.3i Mini Cooper, that was one of the very few cars to put a genuine smile on my face, drove it everywhere flat out! 1994 Ford Maverick 2.4 SWB, great fun and a lot better off road than on it! 1996 Mercedes C Class, my first "prestige" car (it was pretty rubbish really but very comfy as a cross Europe tourer) 1999 Golf Gti Mk 4 (the 3dr turbo one) nowhere near as bad as the press said. 2001 Mk1 Audi TT 225q - flawed but gorgeous. 2007 Audi TT Mk2, simply stunning. 2012 Mercedes SLK AMG Sport - pretty decent overall. And now........... 2014 Porsche Cayman 981 the total db's. Ref Hamsters comment about owning a car you just want to drive for the fun of it, Hammy, get one of these and re live your MR2 days (I drove one of earliest as well as the later/last version those, and you're right)
