pigeon controller
Met up with Bunny Blaster Thursday night to hatch the Plan, we have three farms close together and if you shoot one they go to the other one . We knew some lads were shooting the one farm Friday so we agreed if we could not find any birds we would return and we would shoot one of the other farms and Bunny Blaster the third. That in the back of our minds we set out Friday morning looking for birds to shoot, three farms , three pigeon shooters setting up. Contacted Bunny Blaster and he had looked at two farms one with a shooter set up . So we agreed on the plan and set up on the three farms as planned. We watched the rape on our farm and the birds were flighting up the middle hedge to the top field so we set up under a tree on the middle hedge with our twelve thawed birds out , ten on cradles and two on the magnet. First bird in sweet as a nut, subsequent birds would not decoy but turned away. moved magnet position ,no effect. removed magnet and put up two angels, birds decoy, put out five angels in different directions , birds decoyed well . The flightline moved behind us on the second field so put out decoys behind us and shot both sides of the fenceline from the treehide. We continude shooting up to 15.30 and picked up nintysix birds, the other farms produced bags of seventytwo and fortytwo. So the plan worked. Saturdays weather was forecast to be rain till eleven and then cloudy, we had been out from eight and it was raining all the time , We had seen a few birds down but not great numbers and nothing flying, it was now 12.00 and we were heading to one of the fields that we had seen a shooter setting up the day before as we had a plan ourselves. When we arrived at the field it had a good number of birds down, we walked them off in the drizzle and they went to a field across the road onto more rape. So the plan was to set up on the otherfield with just twelve fresh birds from the day before and no gimmicks. we did this because the previous days shooters set up was two flappers with real birds a dozen or so of plastic decoys and a magnet with imitation birds which was set high with the arms high so the two decoys were about two and a half meters off the ground with a one and a half meter rotation. We were all set up for 13.00 and the first birds came straight in and we kept adding to the pattern with shot birds all on cradles above the rape till we had twenty out , we then added four angels from three directions. The susequent shot birds we brought into the hide, it actually stopped raining at 14.30 and we shot till 15.30. We picked up one hundred and thirty five birds. So a great start to the year with the game dealer collecting two hundred and thirty birds on Sunday Edited January 3, 2015 by pigeon controller

Fuddster
hats off again PC-fantastic bags over winter osr. not withstanding each to their own but have you discounted using a semi-I find that winter osr brings in birds in threes to twentys often leaving birds still in range after 2 or 3 shots fired. just curious. went out today to shoot a field with 500+ blue locusts feeding on osr-drove into a boggy field and got stuck about 3m from hard ground.frantic pleading phonecall to local farmer who came and dragged me out. hopefully out tomorrow, same field but with a slightly wiser driver. cheers fudds

Passionforangling
Thanks for the update this weekend PC. How did I know you were going to spoil my moment of glory? JDog is only just in second place although I'm confined to going for a walk with Mrs P4A tomorrow so maybe I will be well back in third position if he ventures out after his change of quarry today....She just doesn't get this challenge is for real!
