More hassle.....somtimes I just feel like giving up.

They are just making owning firearms as difficult as possible, to discourage civilians from having firearms.

I have a theory that the authorities driven by the rich and powerful want to remove all guns from private ownership for fear a future civil uprising, bought about by establishment greed and corruption and because of the contempt with which they treat the populace.

If any of what this website prints is to be believed, such as the previous leaked acpo proposed law commission changes

then this is why we need to stand up for ourselves as 1 united front.

They arent above or below the law the felwg or acpo, the last time I looked parliament and house of lords made any changes not them

We need to be united now more than ever deer stalkers, vermin controllers, target shooters, game shooters

air rifle shooters we all love the same sport all be it in different formats, its high time we acted as one group

I may not be a target shooter any longer or ever of tried going on a game shoot but I support and will defend those that choose

to do that as their legal past time and encourage others to stand with those that they would not associate with people who

like to go doing practical shotgun.or people who just like to shoot targets with an airgun at a range etc

united we stand people :friends:

Another urban myth.

I said it was a theory, I did not claim it to be fact.......only time will tell? But I do question why currently every proposal from the authorities that involves controlling guns will only affects legal gun ownership, and in no way addresses or will affect criminality/terrorism involving illegal guns?

Potentially another over the top reaction chaps, having just read the entirety of the paperwork rather than the slightly reactionary reporting on the original link, it seems to me like only making sure the guidance is followed rather than being advisory, now you could take this as "they're coming for my guns and let's get all American about it" or we could be more circumspect as perhaps it might be helpful to prevent certain forces who don't follow the guidelines and insist on mentoring conditions, or won't allow AOLQ?

It's not always "de-arming private gun owners" etc, it could just be a leveling the playing field exercise and possibly a good thing?

I had a read of the link display in post #1 and wondered where the information had come from. At the top is a contact me bit. Here is the link to the bloke. Does anyone know him? https://ukshootingnews.wordpress.com/about/ It looks like a pretty deep thing to read all of the minutes of the meetings and all of the different options and angles and to understand what is going on behind the scenes. I get the feeling of being a rabbit out in a field trying to do what I'm doing but needing to be constantly on my guard for all of the dangers out there that I don't know exist.

To have a firearms license you are vetted to prove you are responsible and person of good character, this clearly marks to the police that we are the easiest and hassle free body to tackle and boost figures for their popular propaganda to joe public. Last year I was parked in a driveway of one of my customers, sign written van with landline, mobile and email address, plod pulls up with a member of office of fair trading to question me on what I was doing, did the owners know I was there, had I been canvassing etc. I pointed out that maybe they should be asking the chaps a few doors down ripping up a drive in nice big shiny 4x4's and a lorry full of tarmac, when they finished with me they drove off, did they question the dids, of course not. The point I'm making is criminals are just to hard to deal with and cost a lot of money to arrest so pick on the soft target.
