Due to me not been as fit as i should be....i have been concentrating on making the garden easier to look after, as i have other responserbilites now.......i used to have flowers and beds everywhere...dont know anything about flowers and stuff...she indoors just told me what to do...then she would prune stuff and i would clear it up................as she dont have no input into the garden anymore...i decieded to make it into a "wild" garden....yeah yeah yeah i know its a cop out...i started last year and it aint going too bad now......the garden is full of bees and birds .....

first 2 pics are where i have removed another one of them bloody conifers...and it has let the light in and the wild flower seed mix i have sown is comin up good...

JDog told me to sort this rose out...when he was here the arbour had recently fallen down.........so i welded some stuff together and banged it into the ground about 3ft...and bent the flat iron around ....and it is nice and neat an tidy.....i think it is a climber the other pic is an area that was always untidy...which i have modified...and it likes it...the braken is the best its ever been.....so i just pull a bit of grass out ...jobs done....everything in the garden is welcome 'cept stinging nettles.....oh and them naff pulpy thistle things...

It has that maturity that money can't buy. For the first time in many years I am now living in a house that isn't a new build. The garden has lots of trees and established shrubs in, and surrounding, it and ,as you indicate, the number and variety of birds is astounding.

That's my type of garden, do you have veg anywhere?

:good:

i used to have a vedge patch...but the only thing that would groew well was onions......all the garden as you see it now was a scrap yard 35years ago..everywhere you dig you dig up barber wire old baths and asbestos and god knows what...........what i will do shortly is to use some of my old pots up and plant a multitude of herbs and have it at the back of the kitchen in the other garden where we are getting better sun as i have taken more conifers out..........

all wildlife passes thro the odd deer...hedgepigs...bloody snakes.......fox.......NEVER EVER seen a rabbit would you believe....yet 20 yds away on the mounds there are boys shooting them every night for the factory to stop them burrowing into the edges of the ponds (lime settling ponds)
