Roost shooting / flighting corvids and woodpigeons

A good video and some good shooting there.

Also a good lesson in totally ignoring the branches when roost shooting.

Agree, not a good idea for the dog to run in especially if shooting, crows as they have a nasty habit of going for the dogs eyes if not dead. I've seen this and it's not a pretty sight.

Thanks for posting.

Thanks for the comment OB.

Couldnt agree more about the corvids. Watching Ted retrieving corvids makes me wince when rewatching this. I'll tie him to a tree next time out.

The fault lies with me of course - I'm more a shooting man than a dog man.

Cheers. I'm not a fan of free thought in retrieve timing ☺

Mine never ever goes after I've shot

I always miss nowt to pick up

Some nice shots there mate

Thanks bullet1747.

Sometimes I'm glad of it to be honest as he can spot hits when I think I've missed.

It can be a real plus wildfowling too.

I just don't want him to do it ALL the time!

Enjoyed that mate and a damp good shot you are to ............nice one

Thanks for the kind words - I can miss them well too. Like most people, some days it's hard to miss, other days it's hard to connect! If you look closely, there are some misses there too.

I always enjoy your videos and this one was no exception, some nice shooting with the new gun, just wait until you get your "eye in" with it, you'll be unstoppable!

Thank you. The jury is still out on the gun. I have a B525 and it just seems smoother in operation - although it could be that I still haven't rounded off the corners on the newer gun.

I'll give it some abuse on the skeet range over the next few months and make my mind up.

That's after the roost shooting of course!

"Do you know what leave means" 😂😂

Not just me that talks to my dog then .

Nice shots pal 👍🏻

Thanks Sir. I talk to him more when I'm duck shooting - I give a kind of running commentary as the birds flight around. It wasn't until I started doing these wee clips I realised I did it so much. Or how many names I call him (not rude ones) - his name is Ted but he gets Bert, Fred, Weebs, Rico, wee man to name but a few.

You don't miss much, enjoyed that

Cheers Duffryn. Like most people it depends on the day! I can miss them like a pro.

I went down to the same place last night with my semi auto and had a bit of a disaster. I may be moving that gun on as that's the second time that has happened. Thinking of a pump action ....
