Skiing roll call!

I've just checked, white and cold buddy

Thank God for that. I hate the black and warm stuff 😀

Does anybody drive over to the ski resorts from the uk?

Were Thinking about driving over next season,2 adults and 2 kids

Does the total holiday price work out much cheaper than a package jobby.

I don't see how it could. A lot of packages offer flight free deals but they never seem to be much cheaper. And cost of fuel, tolls and then the stress of driving. I wouldn't bother. Some do though.

Fly to sestriere on the 26th can't wait to get out. We drove last year (just a cheap and cheerful) had a great time and saved a bomb, going self catering and managing to take a lot of provisions with us, except wine and beer, if easter didn't fall so late this year I would be back on the tunnel, (but haven't ruled it out as yet!)

It can be, normally cheaper to fly.

I sit on the morning easyJet release flights at 7am. With 2 iPads and a laptop. Looking at costs from 3 airports. Book the cheapest one. I couldn't drive from Newcastle to Geneva for what I paid. That's before ferry and tolls.

Even this week I got a price for Wed to Wed in early march EDI - GEN, return for 2 adults and 2 children for less than £150 before cases.

With skiing, the airfare is normally the cheapest part.

Just be careful about local regulations on tyre types and snow chains and the like. Some resorts won't let you drive if you haven't got the right stuff on the carand the right stuff might add costs to your trip.

UKPoacher, you are so right in this aspect.

Even on the Med the locals would be worried about whether they have had their winter tyres put on!

For god sakes, apart from some low overnight temps the roads are so dry that in 8 years I never experienced 'black ice'

Obv a few like ourselves would travel wax weeekd to the snow, but even then we had to have a set of compulsory snow chains/socks

Unfortunately I do.... He was at my wedding in 1999 and I knew him for a number of years before that!!!!!!

Depressing really!

wow.....that long ago, was trying to remember how long ago it was the other day :hmm:

Have you ever seen him smile?

Never.

He's good at moaning though.

You do know this is character assassination?

I smile when I'm with people who make me happy, the rest of you can **** *** :innocent:

Oh and Mark, don't forget the prezzie, what you usually get me will suffice

:shaun:

Les Arcs (again). Fly out on the 25th.

What's the snow been like?

Very mixed. Had the worst day skiing where it rained all day but also the best day with 2ft powder. Been snowing today since 4pm probably another 1 ft of snow. I found les arcs a lot busier than la plagne. Was finding virgin snow all day today.
