rimmie
Hi all, I think I'm going to sell my browning 425 grade 5 and get a maxum, I have handled a few and really like them. Any pros or cons from people ? Pics welcome.

Westward
I find the oil finish on the wood to be a little soft making it susceptible to little handling marks but having said that it's easy to bring the wood back to new condition with a light dressing of suitable oil. Everything else about the standard CG range, including the Maxum, is outstanding and IMO a step up from any other mid range O/U.

buze
I agree with the finish, my Invictus 5 bought in september has a few marks on the stock, and the finish has rubbed off a bit of the forend somehow. Otherwise It's been splendid, and I've been shooting it a LOT. it's now butter smooth, cleans well, works well and the only thing a bit creaky when I hold that gun is ... ME :-)
johnnytheboy
Mines isn't very good, rattles a fair bit, last season we compared it to a beretta eell, browning, aya no2, it was like mines rattled on closing more than the rest general consensus was it's not "just like a golf" it was the prettiest but just doesn't feel as good! I think comparing a Maxum to a EELL and s AYA no2 is a bit chalk and cheese.

What do you mean by 'mine', what model/year do you have? My wife has a Syren Maxum, and it's also lovely and doesn't rattle at all... In fact it's still a bit on the tight side sometimes... Iggy
Wouldn't swap mine. Liked it so much bought another. It would take something very special and probably beyond my finances to lure me away.

countryman
Inspect the action on the out side very carefully, look for small dark pit marks.

silver pigeon69
Nice video! (except when you wack the gun with the case at 2.35min!! ) I have seen this gun in the flesh and it is a lovely gun to look at and mount.
