Penalty shoot outs ???.

I just thought there was some rubbish football going on yesterday. The object is to score goals not just keep passing the ball endlessly round and round the midfield. Spain in particular looked like they were trying to go for some sort of record for time wasting.

Yes, Spain chalked up a record number of passes but did nothing with that possession - I think they got less than half a dozen shots on target.

The Croatia game was pretty dull too; Croatia didn't win it, Denmark lost it.

I hope we've practised our penalties because it's all heading that way.

There is a reason for "recycling" the ball around the midfield. The team in possession is searching for an opening. This happens normally against a defensive team. It is preferable to watching the Wimbledon style from the '80s

That's right based on the assumption they really are searching for an opening. That suggests a couple of strikers should be moving upfield ready to start an attack at some stage. In the Spain match I was talking about that wasn't happening. They were just churning for churning sake and every now and then send the ball back to the goalkeeper. Nothing that looked like an attacking formation was even starting to take shape at the sharp end.

That's why I said in a previous post they had the aura of disinterest. Get this match over and we can all go home

Yes  agree,   Well done England for winning after playing against a side who should have received at least three Red cards. What a weak Ref he turned out to be.  Mind you some of our passing of the ball was diabolical.

Should be a red card system for referees to. An aweful display of incompetence.

I think overall our team were ok and had the bit of luck needed. Hopefully will have extended their experiences.

The Mrs was watching it while I was sitting outside having a beer, popped in and caught the drama queens all lined up for a free kick. It took them 4 minutes to take it with one of the England blokes taking a slight knock to the chest and chin. You can see the delayed time from contact to the guy playing hurt then falling to the floor.

Believe me if you get a head butt or a punch to the face you don't wait to see if someone's looking to start rolling round in pain.

Bloomin drama sport for the wooftas. Hilarious.

if a ref got a red card for incompetence don't think there would be one left for the final but yeah the ref from last night was struggling to keep control and i agree old man there should be some sort of system for bad refs
