Dave at kelton Posted August 19, 2018 Report Share Posted August 19, 2018 Worth looking for a good old Winchester waterfowl. Gun trader has one on there. They are a good weight and three inch multi choke. Only drawback is they were made pre steel shot proofing as far as I know so you would need some advice on that. in practice any well made gun should suffice you just have to expect they will get rust on them and soon loose their finish but you can minimise all that with care and thorough cleaning. Dekers Posted August 19, 2018 Report Share Posted August 19, 2018 I would say a multi shot semi, but I hear most wildfowlers winging they only ever see one or two geese a day, so how about a single shot Baikal, £25-£35 in any RFD, and pleased to see the back of them! Fen tiger Posted August 19, 2018 Report Share Posted August 19, 2018 Another for the Browning waterfowl i have had my 425 waterfowl since 2006 its a camo and the duratouch is the worst part of the gun by far, but in use it probably helps stop it rusting, you have to keep them clean and i chose to buy extended after market chokes i feel they were worth the extra investment. Thats not such a bad idea as although in my case i have a 3.5 inch o/u , its largely irelivant as i never use 3.5 inch ammo in that gun. Ok the option to use 3.5 inch is there should it ever be required, You need to ask yourself DO YOU NEED 3.5 inch.?
