Mice!
Driving home this morning in the dark there was a tractor on the north side of the M55 lights on looked like he was about to start ploughing, i just thought ok early start. Driving into work this evening about 2140 on the south side of M55 two tractors lights on ploughing gear? is it likely to be contractors working in the area? I've seen farmers working till silly o'clock before to get a crop in but not ploughing?
Konnie
Making most of the good weather, Saturday walking down the sea wall at 4.30am there was a outfit lifting sugarbeet, will be a lot of winter drilling done this way too if weather is with them. TIGHTCHOKE
If they are sub contractors on a price they will get it done and move on, No time like the present.

Benthejockey
The sun ruined second cut for a lot of farmers and they’re only getting it now about 6/8 weeks after the rain came. This should be third cut time but I doubt there will be many people getting a third cut this year. Saying that the fodder that was made early on is very good quality we got some fantastic hay made in June, and we’ve got some barley straw at work that is probably the best stuff I’ve ever seen. Scully
Around here most of those who wanted it got their third cut, but hay and straw wasn’t too good and the pickles our shoot bought are tiny.
scobydog
Farmer close to me has done and wrapped his 3rd cut over the weekend, the lads were moving it all to the yard until @ 2am today, can't say they don't graft when they have to.
