Lord v
I recognise that! Looks like a pigpen cypher. They are generally simple substitution. The full stop is likely an end of a word. The v with a dot is likely an e or an s. Edited January 21, 2019 by Lord v

bluesj
If the full stop is the end of a word then in the second bit (dated 27th) the first word only has one letter.

Then it could be either an A (as in a dog / a cat) or an I (as in I am).

Cheesefiend
23rd - top line reads ‘conversation with mason’. Use the ACE B.D.F. alternate variant to decode, about 3/4 down the page in the link Bazooka Joe posted above. Cheesefiend
I’ve worked it out - there is one typo in each entry I think. The first one seems to be about an intimate hygiene problem!

I forgot it had been used for that. I was thinking a bacterial problem. Does make me wonder who H was and how legit that ham was that that entry had to be encrypted... 😁 Would be interesting to decrypt more. Sounds like an interesting chap. He is likely a Dr (wrote a prescription) , but clearly not serving in WWII (at least at this point) so probably older and outside possibility of an age to have seen service in WWI. The talk of billiards but not going anywhere to play suggests someone of means. (who else had a billiard room! Also fits with Dr theory) The spelling mistakes suggest someone using the code from memory rather than a crib sheet. But not so proficient that mistakes aren't made (letters are used correctly elsewhere) in such a short passage. Would take a punt at him being a Mason. Did wonder if Mason was a name or a description... (probably not birth control in that case!)
Zapp
Unless that mason was asking "for a friend"
