30-6
I see a couple of requests from collectors for shotgun cartridges. Would they prefer them fired or unfired or is there no preference ? If unfired and not able to do a face to face and physically inspect their certificate, how would they legally be able to send through post ? Would it be acceptable to see a photocopy of their certificate and send them through the post or would it have to be RFD to RFD ?
TIGHTCHOKE
I should imagine you may well get a visit from the Armed Police Teams if you are caught sending live cartridges through the postal system, whether they photocopy their SGC or not. Farmboy91
Ive had cartridges sent from a shop after sending a copy of my Sgc, then the carts being sent via special courier. Everything else I've been and collected, wouldn't even risk sending empties through the post.

johnnytheboy
I have had a load of cartridges from all different couriers, I did supply the shops with my sgc, I don’t know if the shop can verify it at their end maybe before shipping? islandgun
I sent for some hevi shot carts which were posted from a large store a few years ago, the local police came round to tell me they had been handed in by the PO to the station in Inverness, i had to arrange for a carrier to collect and deliver to my address

I've sent and received many empty brass cases with no problems whatsoever.
Imperfection
I've posted various spent brass rifle cartridges in various calibres through the postal system with no issues. If the Royal Mail wish to open the package to inspect they are setting themselves up for an anticlimax and will have to repackage them. Think the problem is common sense isn't exactly that common anymore and it only takes one not so clued up postman pat to ruin someone's day. Im not for a minute saying don't do it, I'm simply saying I was reading somewhere that someone had brought empties, then had them destroyed by royal mail. Maybe I've just been lucky. 👍
