Grandalf
Oh she's gone - And I had to pay for the funeral... Then I discovered that her husband, the man I thought was my father, was actually not my father... It's a long story.

I have been in to work for a couple of hours, been out to shoot clays for a couple of hours, am now sitting watching the Touring Cars at Donnington Park and the "Enticer" is sat on the floor by my desk awaiting the next stage. ditchman
" NOTE ONES SELF MUST LAY OFF THE SAUCE...GOT WARNING AND POINTS FROM ZAPP FOR VULGAR LANGUAGE ...for post last night".. So we are doing the knife bit now.......on the old linisher ....i will tidy the ricasso up when i have finished.......you can see the thickness starting to come out of the blade now...the hinge point is a couple of thou thicker than the blade spring...but will leave that till last........ as this linisher has got a bigger pulley on now it cut rather than abrades/grinds...and dosnt get so hot...you can see the fileings coming off...... anyway thats it for today............. ditchman
got the blade 90% cut now..........all that needs to be done is to cut a slot in the blade for a thumbnail and heat treat it...............if it was W1 steel or O1 steel i would leave the blade thicker ..so it wouldnt wharp when plunged into oil or water...........but this is D2 steel which needs to be brought up to full temperature ...then removed fro heat and left to air cool ...then anneal...........so the cold wont shock it ...so it should be alright...... working on a blade this small is very difficult....but it should be fine when finished...the angle of the cutting edge feels good and will cut well (i hope) Edited April 30, 2019 by ditchman
