sam triple
Yeah watched it , I was amazed by how much their quality control hindered things even when the chips were down , but some amazing if o/t engineering
old'un
It seems the Germans had lots of problems with weapons being over engineered.
Zapp
That and always wanting a specific vehicle to do each individual job perfectly at the expense of loads of one type that did everything tolerably well.

I didn't realise till I watched a program earlier in the year how much of the German army was still horse drawn. Alot of the footage you see is 99% mechanised but that was down to their own propaganda.
Pistol p
The war time German mechanical war effort was hindered and eventually ruined by forced ethnic labour influence. The weapons developed before the Second World War by the Germans went on to conquer in battles after, and dominate right up until today in conflicts around the globe. NoBodyImportant
I was always impressed at the Germans ability to make war. Their two mistakes was to start war with Russian and it’s unlimited man power and the USA with its unlimited manufacturing capacity. You kill a million Russians and they send another million Russians. You shoot down a 1000 American planes they build another 1000 planes. At the start of Barbarrossa the russian army would have sided with Hitler after the mass shootings of their officers, by Stalin, but Hitler regarded them as Untermenchen, had them shot or sent back to camps & death, this +SS attrocities turned a potential ally into mass hatred. Yep, the German war machine was pretty impressive but taking on Russia was their biggest mistake, big drain on resources, if they had concentrated on the invasion of the UK it would have denied the allies a base and there would have been no D-Day landing, they may possibly have won the war of Europe. ordnance
Nice collection, its bad when its easier to go to Germany to shoot them than in the UK.

Yes, its because we cannot be trusted with weapons like that. But as you say, an impressive collection of weapons.

Plus the Germans took no prisoners and massacred all the civilians in the villages they captured as they moved forward so the Russians became a suicide army. Nothing to lose, just make sure you take as many as you can with you before you die.

If they had taken Britain when they had the chance the Americans wouldn't have entered the war IMO. There was a lot of support for Germany in the US, still is today,
