chrisjpainter
Coming in June with Tom Hanks, called Greyhound. It is apparently based on 'actual events' - despite it coming from a novel by C.S.Forester, and all the characters and the convoy and the mission are all fictional! It looks all very dramatc and full of exploding things, but I'm not sure it's brought the intensity and shear terror there must have been in the convoys. Always thought HMS Ulysees by A Mclean would make a great war film, this sounds like an americanised version of it.

Thankfully, Hanks has a tracked record of getting it right, though.
hedge
Is this another war film where the US of A take credit for something the Brits did?
Pistol p
Hmmm... Hanks has got history here. He was an airline captain, ditched it. An astronaut, abandoned the mission. An army captain, got shot. A fedex logistics manager, plane crashed and marooned. A bulk container captain, got hijacked. He didn't even get laid in bachelor party!. Can this end well? Vince Green
My Dad was on a destroyer on the North Atlantic convoys. I remember him saying once a destroyer had been at sea a couple of days in the North Atlantic there wasn't a dry place anywhere on the ship

strimmer_13
Got to say tho it looks like the only war film in recent years I'd actually be bothered to go and watch.
old'un
Looks like a typical American war movie, I’ve not seen it but will give it a watch when available, watching the trailer there was not one sequence that showed any Germans, do we see any? think the cat and mouse works better in movies like this if they build it around characters on both sides. stumfelter
Looks good but Stephen Graham playing a yank? He's the archetypal Scouser!

Except when he was playing al Capone in boardwalk empire or Sargent someone in band of brothers. But apart from that, fair point.

This is why Sink the Bismarck!, Tora! Tora! Tora! and the original Midway work so well. you see two sides and two sets of tactics pitted against each other. As to this one, I'm unconvinced... Danger-Mouse
Watched the trailer. Looks interesting and Hanks is usually good. Will definitely watch it sometime.
