washerboy
I said I would never buy and use a pcp after owning a S200 mk1. Hated the small loading port, power curve was awful. Sold it as new after about 3 months. Keep seeing posts about the ultra. Single shot isn't a problem. Understand the mk 1wasn't great with the cocking system and pointless bsa silencer. Are the newer single **** versions better?
biketestace
Ultrastu is your man for this one mate, a mate of mine has a new type multi shot and its been fine
oldypigeonpopper
hello, good air rifle if your happy with low shot count
enfieldspares
The pointless BSA silencer did have a point. It was to stop the firer's front hand going past the muzzle. For, for sure, it didn't make the gun quieter at all. But joking aside the safety of that front had was, yes, the reason for it I was told. ratass
I have a ultra se single shot, bloody fantastic little gun. nuff said. JB
Ultrastu
The Bsa ultra single shot is a great gun both the older mmc version (with front knob ) and newer se style with a gauge .There is also a version with the rear bolt of the se but doesnt have a gauge underneath . This is easy to recognise as it looks to have a very short air tube . I have a single mmc version .which with a custom stock is my hft /competition gun .its easily the most accurate sub 12 airgun ive ever owned or shot .and has won me a bit of silverware over the years . Mr.C
Are there many shooting bsa on your hft circuit? I only ask as they're a very rare beast down this neck of the woods. AA, Styer, ISP (bloody garage guns, the world and his mother shoot them) ((yes a bit jealous)), Wierauch, and to a lesser extent Annie, Walther and Feinwerkbau. Very very few BSA. Wondering why? stu64
I bought a new scorpion se about 2 months ago, the ultra se had too few shots for me personally. Mine is. 22 and is very impressive in accuracy and build. I'm not the best shot but was shooting bottle tops at 50 yards with the other day, when I had worked out the holdover. When I chronoed it there really isn't a power curve. Right from the off I get 70 full power consistant shots-17 fps maximum deviation. No need for a regulator. Mind you I also have an s410, there's nothing between them for me.
Mice!
You don't see much bad written about ultras unless the person just doesn't like BSA. The only criticism is normally the low shot count, but it's a small light weight rifle so its bound to have a low shot count.
Ultrastu
Yeah its a bit like saying a mazda mx5 is rubbish cos its only got 2 seats .my minibus is way better as it has 9 . Kinda misses the point somewhat
Pistol p
I found the ultra perfect for my permission, just a few hours of early or later hours stalking pigeons and the occasional squirrel. I found the shot count too low back in the early days so moved to the scorpion, but will quite happily get another one if the price is right. Arron yeates
Before having my ultra se tunned and regged by XTX Air i did a course at a shoot first time tryining with it and i cleared every target going against a local with his tuned R10 due to my short cylindre at the time i was low on air towards the end and had to slightly compensate but i did it and i wiped the r10 owners smerk off his face. I was a happy lad that day knowing what it did.
Shufti
Currently on my second Ultra, SE .177 new last October. Previously had a mk 2? (bolt but no gauge and short cylinder) and was impressed enough to buy the SE and very happy with it. Also on my second Scorpion SE, .22 bought s/h , about 2012 vintage, replaced the worn bolt bearing and now good as new. This gun is a project with which I have had great help and guidance from our own BSA guru Ultrastu. Many thanks again publicly! Top lad! This range are robust, functional, accurate and easily fettled ( if needed) by owners. Yes I am biased but very happy with my Beesas My tuppence! washerboy
Another question sorry 😊.. Are there still nice clean examples about 2nd hand, ones I have seen have been adapted or home fettled.
Mice!
You see them quite a lot, normally people selling because they want a bigger shot count.
