Danger-Mouse
The European leaders have spent 4 days trying to agree how much they will give/spend on their Corona recovery fund. Some results: The Dutch PM has been labelled as the replacement for the UK as the most awkward member of the block. The same Dutch PM has annoyed Victor Orban of Hungary so much that Orban is threatening to veto the entire thing. The "Frugal Four" want a reduced package and also want a budget rebate before they agree to it. The Italian PM has accused the Frugal Four of blackmailing Europe. Sweden is opposing a 5 billion Euro fund to help out countries that are going to be hardest hit by Brexit. Merkel and Macron at one point stormed out of the talks. Oh yeah and they still haven't arranged a regular budget yet. European unity at it's finest!

DoolinDalton
I'm so happy to see that it's all going pear shaped for the EU! There again, with all the 'standardisation' of even fruit and veg...what 'exactly' IS Pear shaped? At least we're out of it! I couldn't imagine what tripe the EU would try to impose on the UK if, God forbid, we were still part of the freak show!

Whatever it is at least we should only be trying to bail ourselves out, much easier to swim for shore without the rest of Europe trying to drag us down. But the plan at the moment seems to be go back to work, but stay at home, wear a mask or don't, keep your distance but meet up, its all over with, but it's not. So who knows. So who knows. +1 sounds about right to me - no-one knows or possibly could know what the future holds, whatever any politician does there will be plenty of keyboard warriors along with half empty glasses concentrating on the negative
Guest
They did eventually manage to come to an agreement. A significant portion of what they were arguing about came down to . . . sovereignty. Imagine that!
