Dave at kelton
Cheap fix Austrian army gore-tex off eBay is less than £50. Ridgeline monsoon smock is also great but you sweat like hell in warm weather.

Westward
There's no such thing as 100% waterproof for normal outdoor clothing. There are degrees of water resistance commonly known as mm of hydrostatic pressure and the higher the number the longer it will keep you dry. Good quality wax jackets are pretty capable but need re-waxing fairly regularly. If price matters, go straight past the gun shops and country stores and head to the climbing and hiking type outdoor shops. You'll get a more waterproof jacket for a third of the price. If 100% really matters then oilskins are about the only option.
monster1971
and if its membrane waterproofing ,dont wash it. if you really have to wash it dont use fabric softener or over 30 degrees or it wont be waterproof any more
Diver One
For me Henri-Lloyd Offshore Marine TP Gore-Tex Jackets and Trousers/salopettes. But not really suitable for shooting, although perfect for walking the dogs. By no means are they cheap , but I did work for them so that didn't really come into it
