bluesj
The mrs has had both hers (nhs staff) she had the Pfizer one Just a soar arm after the first but ached all over with the second. Had my first AZ jab couple of days ago , soar arm, shivers and head ache, but probable better than having covid!

I had that - and about half my friends who have had it (the AZ) have been the same. Apparently the AZ tends to have less side effects on second dose ....... whereas the Pfizer (possibly) has more on the second dose.

oscarsdad
I had the AZ one yesterday as the take up was lower and jabs needed using over the weekend. Very efficient and impressive, in and out in less that 10min. I thought I had got away with no side effects until yesterday evening then I got uncontrollable shivers and chattering teeth, headache, muscle aches and dizziness, alternating with sweating buckets. This went on most of the night and was not terribly pleasant but a lot better than having severe Covid. this morning I just feel a bit hungover, headache and sore arm. Apparently chills more likely it had a previous infection so maybe I had an a symptomatic case and didn’t know. discobob
We have a friend, she was working in a nursing home in England (she lives in Wales) and had her first jab when they came round to do the residents and the staff. She has now left that job and has now ended up in a no-mans land with no organisation in Wales willing to assist - just passing the buck between the various places including her doctors surgery. Meanwhile my wife has had her second jab yesterday while I am still waiting to hear about my first jab. She has had no side effect besides a sore arm - shame - I was hoping she would have a side effect that would turn her into a reasonable person 😆

Scully
The jab isn’t really effective for around three weeks after injection, as has been stated. It is perfectly possible for anyone to get full blown Covid within three hours of the jab, or within that three weeks.
