Devon and Cornwall Gun Seizures

Armed response units being the only ones who can take a gun away? Utter rubbish. When my father in law was informed his licence was going to be revoked because of his disability, the FEO just came out and took it with her after informing him of what was happening, no frigging armed response team turned up.

She even told him personally that this was like a default computer system decision because the wording on his PIPs had changed as a result of moving from the old DLA system and that if he appealed he would get it back again without much hassle. He never bothered and after some tooing and froing it was on my ticket.

Like every newspaper story I would bet a kidney that it's being embellished somewhat. Likely people are handing in old guns they no longer want or need as they know it may be too much ballache to justify keeping them when their renewals come up again

So if I'm reading it right they're seizing guns because THEY DIDN'T MAKE THE PROPER CHECKS WHEN ISSUING SGCs. Same old same old. The police doing whatever they can to avoid taking responsibility for their mistakes, regardless of the cost. Once upon a time we had policing by consent and a service answerable to the democratic process and the rule of law. Now they're completely out of control, making it up as they go along, trampling on people's rights and no-one in government it seems has the cojones to rein them in.

What a country we now live in...😧

Would it not be better for the guns given away to members who may want one rather than be destroyed. I think members all know some one looking for a gun just a thought.

A nice 20 gauge s/s ejector for me.

🤔I wonder if it's worth giving them a ring.
