old'un
Had a pair of Jack Pyke hunters boots for about 5 years, warm, comfortable and seem to be standing up well, no signs of cracking, dont know if that's because I treat them with silicon grease every few weeks during the winter. Aled
Altbergs Grade 1 on ebay.
Hicky
If the fit suits you, I’d echo altbergs. If practical go to the factory(Richmond) for the originals. The issue boots aren’t a patch on them. I’ve used both, and a variety of styles.
RyanMc
I have had countless pairs of Altberg Defenders grade 1 or better over the years and i just plain wear out the soles or toes doing gardening or mechanic work. The other option is Haix cold wet weather boots grade 1 or better and treat with gold label hide tack (beeswax & lanolin i think) cream. I have had a pair of these for going on 3 years as my 'good' boots. Brilliant and a bargain at the slightly used/as new grade.
D3ave
Another vote for the Haix cold wet weather boots

joejoe
I bought some aku leather, gortex lined boots from TK Maxx last year. Italian made same boots as the Danish army use, their needs are probably greater than mine. They have held up well for dog walking and rough shooting. But I mostly wear wellies out shooting as they are easier to clean.
Stimo22
So I sent my Meindl boots back to see if repairable, yes but £105 to resole. They are not worn just coming apart. Don’t feel like giving them anymore money for boots

I paid 70 quid for a second hand pair of Matterhorn and then 90 quid to resole. 🤷♂️ I do understand how you feel though.
