New Boots

I have had countless pairs of Altberg Defenders grade 1 or better over the years and i just plain wear out the soles or toes doing gardening or mechanic work.

The other option is Haix cold wet weather boots grade 1 or better and treat with gold label hide tack (beeswax & lanolin i think) cream. I have had a pair of these for going on 3 years as my 'good' boots. Brilliant and a bargain at the slightly used/as new grade.

I bought some aku leather, gortex lined boots from TK Maxx last year. Italian made same boots as the Danish army use, their needs are probably greater than mine.

They have held up well for dog walking and rough shooting. But I mostly wear wellies out shooting as they are easier to clean.

So I sent my Meindl boots back to see if repairable, yes but £105 to resole. They are not worn just coming apart. Don’t feel like giving them anymore money for boots

I think that’s about the norm in my experience. I paid 70 quid for a second hand pair of Matterhorn and then 90 quid to resole. 🤷‍♂️
I do understand how you feel though.
