Hi gang.

I took my old Lorus watch which i gave £20 for  about 10+ years ago for a new of the above.

Was quoted £24 for battery and strap. I said i can get a new one for £29.99 from Argos.

Needless to say i came out empty handed.

It must be me, I am reading that as you have used an issue of army watches to retrieve your ferrets?

The battery in your new watch may already be 1 - 2 years old  when you buy it .the new battery they install will be brand new .and should give 3 years use .

I like to buy the solar powered watches .they don't ever run out and the automatic  ones set the times them selves .

Basically  it's never the  wrong  time .

Great watches  - casio wave ceptor.

usually on you local sat' market stall day there is a person who does that for pennies

I had a new battery put in my Seiko watch on Yarmouth market , the chap fitted it and reset the day and date all for the grand sum of £3.00 , even I could afford that , only just mind you:drinks:

If I can’t make the market I have a set for removing watch backs. It has the little pry tool and the big adjustable rear case unscrew tool.
crude and a bit of a pain but works.

Auction site was only a few quid and has done a fair few watches. Same with a strap that was an awkward size

the market is my default but sometimes the guy isn’t there.
I should just have the batteries replaced by him every year or so for the few quid it costs
