bruno22rf
My 2 Dogs are 8 this year so got a fair bit of time left with them, but when I see them running around, bringing back stuff that I dont want or just sitting by my side I sometimes wonder what in God's name will I do when they go, just the thought is upsetting. RIP Bertie Boo.
Walker570
It never gets any easier. Like losing a family member. Been there too many times.
JohnfromUK
Very sorry to hear. We have (I suspect) all been there and mine are 'gone, but never forgotten'. You will not forget yours either.
Scully
Sad news indeed. They are simply a member of the family and as such the grief is real. Some folk just don’t understand that.
samboy
That's why i always have 2 or 3 dogs so when 1 goes you can console yourself with the others. I have never been without a dog. I'm after another couple now as i'm down to 1.

discobob
Thanks for all the support guys - and my thoughts go out to others that have suffered the losses as well. For the time, we will be sticking with the one that is left - he hasn't had much of a lookin for the past year with the health of Bertie taking a priority. Also, nowadays there is pretty much someone home every day so he won't be alone (hence how we ended up with two in the first place) as when we brought our first back from Cyprus 27 years ago, and when she came out of quarantine, we were both working so got another to keep her company. He has already been on a long walk down Loggerheads today and is now sleeping it off.
