Beretta A400 3.5 inch chamber

I am considering a semi auto for wildfowling and pigeon shooting but have fallen out of love with my Benelli Montefeltro.

I was in an RFD and despite being a massive Browning fan, I found a Beretta a400 that I really quite liked. It was black composite and had a 3.5 inch chamber. Unfortunately I didn't note the model!! It didn't have the kick off system and I was wondering if anyone could point me towards which model it could be.

I know that I could go back and look, but the diesel price is less if someone on here knows off hand!

Many thanks

Hi @Big Al a complete stab in the dark but I believe the a400 extreme plus is quite common in the black synthetic. Have they got a website you could check to confirm, or maybe just give them a call.

as a side note I shoot an a400 light for my wildfowling/ pigeon and Corvid shooting. Cracking guns and it’s never let me down in five years of ownership. 👍🏻

If you’re a Browning fan have you considered the Maxus? A couple of mates really rate theirs.

I tried on and it was nice, but the a400 just felt more substantial.

I have moved away from a semi auto as I don’t always find the shells on the Merse and hate leaving plastic around unnecessarily.

Fair point. I have used an ou at ducks for years. It is probably a fad I'm going through.

Franchi Affinity , 7 year warranty is may hide and wild fowling gun

I shouldered one, but it didn't do it for me I'm afraid. It'll be Beretta or Browning methinks.

Aye. Chamber length isn't always obvious though.

I have an A400 extreme. The plus has a kick off and doesn’t have the cartridge cut off (single shot) which I find useful. The original a400 also have a better recoil reducers built in the stock and a hydraulic ram damper in the action . For me a far superior gun than the plus model and bomb proof.

Thanks muncher. Is it 3.5 inch?

Big Al the beretta A400 extreme is 3.5 chamber one of the lads bought one in the duck club camo version he payed a pretty penny for it He’s had no problem with it even firing 24g shells at clays due to the great gas system in it But he informed me bit heavy but fine for sitting in the hide IS IT a Extreme Plus ?????

No worries Big Al think if you decide to buy it according to reports from fella who has one you should have no problems with it Be interested to hear if you buy it Good luck

I went and shot it today. It's an A400 xtreme. Think I'll give it a go .....

I’m exceptionally hard on my guns and I’ve had one of these for several years and it just keeps going. I doubt you’ll be disappointed.

I’m sure it will be a great gun for the hide Good luck BA Can’t wait to see it in your videos 👍

Well, I couldn't do a deal with the RFD. They wanted my B525 Grade 1 game gun plus £400.

So I've bought a camo 3.5 inch Maxus instead!

Thanks guys.

How much did they want for the A400?

Maxus is still a nice gun.

Ah yes I see what you mean. I think the fact is at the moment that it’s a buyers market.
I was thinking of selling one of my rifles but don’t think the market is there.
As already said Maxus is a great auto in any case.
