alan123shooting
Had a damp stalk this morning, a muntjac in the bag, came home to a very nice meaty kipper from Donaldson of Kings Lynn, bread and butter a cup of tea, nice start to the Sunday
marsh man
Look lovely and make a change from a full English breakfast , Kippers down here were a big thing at one time with the smoke houses everywhere , now they have all but gone with just the odd one left , the popular Time And Tide museum was converted from a smoke house and part of it is now on display to the public . Lampwick
I love a proper kipper but hate the flipping bones!! Takes me ages to eat one. My wife on the other hand just munches on through and calls me a sissy. 🤣

Must admit that I also eat tinned kippers as much easier and no smell
Pushandpull
If you are visiting King's Lynn be sure to find Donaldsons. They are a top class traditional fishmonger with a huge range of stuff, and also sell game and cheese.

Scully
Haven’t had kippers for years; really must get some. Once brought some Manx kippers back from a working trip to the Isle of Man. They were really disappointing. 🤔

Kings Lynn itself is well worth a visit with several places of interest , I used to go up there a lot on my bus pass , went to the sporting auction at Gaywood on the bus once , left Yarmouth at 1pm and it take two hours to get to Lynn bus station , then got another bus to Gaywood , got there in good time to have a look round and a cup of tea , sat there during the auction and realised the last bus back to Yarmouth was about 9.15 and this was then about 8.30 as I didn't want any guns I thought I better get a move on , not knowing what times the odd bus went back to the bus station I thought it would be quicker if I walked back , the walk was longer than I thought and I got back with about five minutes to spare
