ilovemyheckler
I want to sell my car in July and wondered where the best place to sell is. The dealer I am buying from only offered p/ex price of £20K and I think its worth at least £23K and although it makes things much easier p/ex as new car arrives and existing one goes the same day. We Buy Any Car have offered £21.75K so that may be the way to go?

countryman
I have just sold a car similar value to yourself on EBay in the auction, My experience on that one was dreadful, it did sell but i had so many pushy dealers contact me, in the end it was a dealer that brought it and I had to get a couple of mates here on the day of pay and collection, personally for me next time it’s just going to be a trade in. Good luck.

Stimo22
I recently sold a car on “Motorway” and got a really good price. Over 2k more than offered in part exchange. It was a reasonable easy way to sell, you put the details on site, they get you to photo certain views and it get put in an auction. It sold first time and was collected and paid for in a couple of day. Will use again anytime
amateur
I have found, disposing of my 12 year old car, that both Motorway and WBAC quote a price that doesn't turn into reality. In Motorway's case, their dealers' auction didn't come up to the quote and WBAC just knocked of hundreds for minor "fair wear and tear" when they inspected it. It went to a neighbour, a small scale car dealer, who initially offered less than the others' first quotes, but ultimately paid more. Stimo22
My Motorway offer was well above the initial estimate

If the car is in good order they are not a bad option. Selling private can be a Royal PITA. Edited May 14, 2023 by Weihrauch17

Sadly for him, he couldn`t find anything else wrong so I`m guessing that they get commission on any reduction on the initial valuation that they can make. I just shook my head and walked away. Their valuation was only very marginally above what I was offered for a trade in, so not worth the hassle. OB
London Best
Sold a £20k plus car on behalf of my daughter last year. Motorway exceeded main dealer’s trade-in price and all other “we buy any car, honest guv” quotes. Collection was next day, on time, no hassle and paid by transfer on the spot, cleared before driving away. Excellent experience.
Zeus001
I sold a £25k plus car last year through Cazoo, at the time they were £3K more than WBAC, very easy got the quoted value and instant payment at no extra cost. Rat Boy
Last year I sold my BMW 135 through WBAC they knocked off £800 because the full service history was not done on the exact day it should have been. Thieves.
