Selling a shotgun from the U.K. in the USA?

Hi there,

Has anyone had any experience selling a shotgun in the US? Or used a company in the U.K. to do it for them?

I have a lovely old Stephen Grant side lever with Damascus barrels that I’ve been told could be worth a bit in the US and with the prospect of lead being banned I’m keen to move it on.

Grateful for any info.

Many thanks,

Stan

I bought a gun from a rfd in Wales somewhere and he told me for just one gun the price was prohibitive he used to send them in lots and even that was expensive. better by far to put the gun up for sale here in the Uk. Lead ban or not there will always be a decent market for really nice guns. If you are fishing for a buyer I am sure the mods will have something to say.

:good:

Don't have any problems with someone posting something for sale as their first post, as you say, it could be something that someone as been looking for and at the right price.

Quite. Why not use the site as a sales tool for people not interested in guns or shooting. Lots of folk inherit airguns and equipment and have no clue as to where to get a good deal. But of course posting in the right section.

Thanks gents… I think.

What a welcome!

It’s a genuine query. Not a back door attempt to sell it on here.

Well, you did get some helpful replies 🙂 Others jumped in without reading your first post properly,,,, and with a bit of unrequired suspicion 🤷

Welcome and good luck with your endeavours 👍

Find a trader who will be transparent that you trust. There will be handling fees both sides, there will be an export tax, there will be an import tax, there will be up to 3 separate shipping costs. There may be less costs depending on the age of the gun, there may be special handling costs.

a reputable dealer will be able to help. TGS did have a video but I see it's been pulled for some reason.

I guess you need to weigh up potentially spending several hundred notes to export it, vs a punt on guntrader. Good luck either way.
