Is there a swarm on a branch or post.If they are a local beekeeper would remove them for you.They are protected. It's tempting to say if you studied harder you would have done better than 3 Bs... But it sounds like a bumble bee, which will be gone in a month or so as it gets colder. A pic would help and are you sure it wasn't wasps? If the sting was left behind they it'll be honey bees. I don't think they are protected but a local bee keeper is likely to collect them for free if they they are honey bees and easy to get at.
