The way I see it, and the reason I started the thread, is because the financial impact of c-19 has created tensions within the EU that are likely to pull it apart anyway. You really need to read the article, Germany is calling time on the ECB saying no more printing money and if the ECB doesn't print money then Italy for one will go under. Spain probably too, but many of the minor states live on handouts from the EU.at the best of times. Germany it appears, no longer cares about that. In itself a seismic shift because they appear to be cutting the other countries loose to go bust They realise, I believe, that the banking crisis that will surely follow will be too big for them all to survive. We don't have to do anything, sit on our hands and watch them slog it out. Its not our fight anymore, fortunately I'm not given to praising Gordon Brown but thank heavens he blocked Tony Blair joining the Euro

The B word seems to have been replaced by the C word but Brexit has not gone away While we have been preoccupied with viruses and death tolls huge shifts have been taking place within the economic dynamics holding the EU's rather fragile alliance together. That may well be about to change https://www.telegraph.co.uk/business/2020/05/17/eu-risks-losing-germany-picks-constitutional-fight-death-euro/?li_source=LI&li_medium=liftigniter-rhr

Almost certainly Birmingham made. Very few guns were ever made by the name engraved on them. Even the big names farmed the work out Old shooting magazines are a good source of info

I've just been to Morrisons, my route takes me past some parkland visible from the road called Headstone Manor. Sat on the grass on plain view about half a dozen mums and their kids all having a picnic while the kids played. A lot of people really don't get it.

Bird of prey persecution crimewave reported

Found by animal rights activists out for walk by the sound of it...…………….Hmmmm? even if I did find a dead hawk, which I never have, would I report it? I wouldn't know how to one thing you can be absolutely sure of, if they were shot by a gamekeeper (and I doubt that very much) the carcass wouldn't be found lying around. -

When (and if) the truth comes out properly about the NHS's role in pushing C-19 infected patients into the care homes, thus causing it to spread like wildfire, the NHS might not be the sacred cow it is now.

Bird of prey persecution crimewave reported
Vince Green replied to JohnfromUK's topic in General Shooting Matters
A couple of years back I commented to a lady I know who is a keen birdwatcher that it was good to see a red kite that was circling in the distance and she went into a rage saying exactly what you said they kill all the songbirds, they should never have been introduced, people meddle with things they don't understand. It was very uncharacteristic of her but if that's the view in the wider bird watching world in general it may explain who has a down on kites. -

How many gun shops are open at the moment?
Vince Green replied to Vince Green's topic in General Shooting Matters
Commission sales round here are 25%. But all our shooting outdoors (including clays) resumes from 23rd at Bisley so I presume the shops will have to be open to service that. The shop the our member bought his guns from has no room to take in any more but I have spoken to him this morning and he is waiting for clarification as to when he can re-open in the light of the NRA announcement. He says a similar announcement from CPSA is expected imminently. -
Shooting Resumes at Bisley – Saturday 23rd May 2020 We welcomed the recently published Government guidance that allows, from today, the re-opening of outdoor sports facilities. Staff are now finalising plans for a limited re-opening of Bisley ranges, initially weekends only, commencing Saturday 23rd and Sunday 24th May 2020 on:- Rifle Ranges Electronic targets only, one hour slots, one firer per target Century Range (100, 300 and 600 yards) Stickledown Range (900 and 1,000 yards) Shotgun Ranges 4 layouts – English and Olympic Skeet, DTL, OT Range bookings can be made from 0900 Tuesday 19th May. The safety of our staff and shooters is our prime concern, and the experience of shooting at Bisley will be very different to normal. Detailed instructions, procedures and Risk Assessments will published Monday 18th May. Finally a heartfelt plea – please do not try to contact the NRA offices to enquire about shooting at Bisley until Tuesday 19th May; the lion share of queries will be answered by the documents we will publish on Monday 18th. Stay safe – we are looking forward to welcoming shooters back to Bisley, and will be thinking of those who decide to stay at home. If a person dies that hasn't been seen by a doctor in the 14 days prior to the death it must be reported to the coroner by law. That's why they are putting covid on the death certificate because since 26/3/20 they are not having to refer covid deaths. Which deaths must be reported to the Coroner? About half of all deaths are not reported to the Coroner at all, as a doctor is able to provide a Medical Certificate of Cause of Death. This is a document which allows the death to be registered. There are strict rules governing when a doctor may do this. They must know what illness caused the patient's death and must have seen and treated them for that illness within the 14 days before they died. These rules are in place to safeguard patients and ensure that death reporting and registration is accurate.

Had my FAC renewed during lockdown, phone interview and send them photos of my serial numbers. easy

This is a growing subject of debate elsewhere. Lots of people are reporting having relatives die with absolutely no evidence of corvid but being shocked to find corvid stated on the death certificate as cause of death. The reason is simple, doctors are not going into care homes or seeing patients at home (or in their surgeries for that matter) at the moment. So when the patient dies a post mortem is required by law to establish the cause of death because they have not been seen by a doctor prior to dying. However patients who are stated as having died of corvid can be buried or cremated without the need for a post mortem during the present situation. So doctors are being told to record unseen deaths as covid because the pathology depts at local hospitals couldn't cope with the extra workload of doing what they see as lots of unnecessary geriatric post mortems just to satisfy a legal requirement. Its not Government policy its just doctors taking the path of least resistance and paperwork

Apparently, all shops can open from today in England but not Wales or Scotland provided they can satisfy social distancing? is that right? -
Oh yes absolutely right, its been through a total rebirth, its green and rural now. Tom Jones grew up a few miles further down the valley and in a programme in which he returned he is seen standing on the bridge over the river Taff, presumably near Treforest. He says when I was a boy that river was black, look at it now.
