I find that by not showering or changing my clothes for a week I have no problem with social distancing.

In the film the Dark Knight the Joker says to Batman "You can't hurt somebody who doesn't care" I often reflect on that statement because its so true

We have to remember that all the people dying from it now, and probably for some weeks back, have been infected with the lockdown restrictions in place. In theory, fourteen days after the lockdown was imposed the number of new cases should have just dropped like somebody had turned off a switch

Well that's true of all fines, I'm not in touch with the actual figures any more but some years ago approx. half the fines imposed by Magistrates Courts (excluding motoring fines) were never paid

Michael O'Leary (head of Ryan Air) said on breakfast TV this morning that most passengers are going to simply ignore the 14 day quarantine rule. I suspect he is right about that.

Because their politicians like to bolster their own sense of self importance, they couldn't possibly just go along with what Boris says.

There is a lot of good stuff around that part of Wales. They have the best café in the whole world in Taffy's Café. responsible for me putting on a stone. You can get your hair cut for a fraction of what you would pay in London. Car servicing, and things like dry cleaning.all so much cheaper If you have an interest in shooting, getting permissions is like falling off a log in Wales. The farmers will actually phone you up rather than the other way round. And lots of history too. Not all good, but history is what it is, mining disasters, Aberfan , Richard Trevithic and the first ever railway station was at Abercynon. The history of the Labour Party etc. And shed loads of Rugby The little push me pull you train gets you down to Cardiff in about 25 mins. I really wish I was down there at the moment

I looked seriously at Canada about eight years ago. They wanted a $200,000 CAN bond (refundable after 5 years) from me to grant me residence and proof of my assets, medical cover, pension etc. Plus about $50,000 for an immigration lawyer to process / expedite my application. Oh and I wouldn't be able to own firearms which rather negated my reason to go. In the end I bought a house in Abercynon / Mountain Ash, South Wales instead and absolutely loved the place. Absolutely brilliant

Lets face it, much of Canada like a lot of States in the US have been in isolation since before all this started. Some twenty odd years ago I drove with my friend Jim from Nebraska to South Dakota and some of it we did off the interstate on the backroads because we were visiting some historical sites. People over here cannot begin to imagine driving two hours and barely seeing another soul, the odd dwelling, a few farm trucks. Signs saying last gas for 60 miles and a diner.

I had one and I got it from my Mum's catalogue

When you consider that in the first three months of this year 18.1 Million people landed in the UK (I find that number unbelieveable but its true apparantly) from all sources you can see why we cannot have a lockdown
-
Unfortunately, the sheer number of passengers carried by air make the case against it overwhelming.

Patient zero was an expression applied to AIDS/ HIV and if it applied at all to this pandemic they would be in China. There can only be one patient zero. The first confirmed case in the UK was a Chinese national in York in mid January but they had not travelled recently. Anecdotal evidence suggests the infection was present at least a month before but just being diagnosed as pneumonia or viral cough and probably came from multiple individuals.. A lot of evidence is accumulating now about skiers returning from the Austrian resort of Ischgl and a bar called the Kitzloch Bar. Dozens of cases around Europe are linked to this bar. but other resorts in Northern Italy are also in the frame. It appears that a lot of these ski resorts use seasonal Chinese workers as room maids, cleaners and kitchen staff so the route of the infection can be tracked back but the interesting thing is that the timescales don't tally at all. The evidence that China must have tried to cover up the outbreak for a long time, is becoming more compelling. Everything comes out in the end

No its not pointless, in fact its far from pointless. How did the virus first get here? answer - on a plane brought in by a passenger. More accurately, brought in by an estimated 20,000 infected passengers and how much virus still came in day after day on all those flights from New York, Spain and Italy when their infections were peaking? Because those flights were (and still are) coming in Every infected person that came in was another potential breakout People are still coming into heathrow and getting straight onto the underground Pointless? I disagree

I know the fishing organisations are lobbying the government very hard. The NRA sent out an electronic newsletter last week saying they were in talks over outdoor rifle ranges. My sailing club is saying much the same about sailing as long as the skipper and crew are from the same household. They are also talking about timed laps etc. I think it will come but with more freedom comes greater responsibility. When you see the images of lads playing football in London Fields yesterday you realise this is not going to be easy.

Tottenham supporters ?

We can't sent them back because the French just refuse to take them back. No proof they ever came from France, how do we know they didn't come from Belgium? or Holland? is what they will say. This is why the French wont give the migrants any form of documentation what so ever. That way they can deny they were ever in France. The only option would be to leave them out in the channel to die like the Italians started doing in the Med

The gowns received from Turkey were made from too thin fabric intended for some other use. OK get real wear two. Life is not perfect, nobody said it was going to be perfect.

Having lived in America I am not really even slightly surprised by watching that.

There is opposition and there is just peeing in the wind to see who it lands on.

Hitler and the Nazis managed to harness the German mindset very effectively. he said thousands of years of living in a land where the summers were good and the land fertile but the winters were long and harsh had bred a people who had to be both strong and industrious to survive. They had to prepare their crops and animal feed in the summer, store their food and their feed and fuel for the winter and build strong houses. Only the best would survive, thousands of harsh winters had killed off the weak and the feckless leaving, by natural selection, the master race. This was Hitler's basic assertion. Although they distance themselves from the Nazi ideology most Germans (I believe) still subscribe to the master race concept in some way or another.
