Christ on a bike Stu - if we continue to get along the way we seem to have the last few months it's gonna end up with Christmas cards and maybe matching jumpers .

If I was tied to a chair and whipped with a damp Kipper until I agreed to buy a BSA then it would be the Scorpion - bought one really cheap a couple of years back hoping to make a few quid by selling it - sold it - regretted it ever since . For a beginner, Bogdan31, you have chosen wisely - but now that you own the gun it means we can all tut and tell you that it is, the wrong calibre, it's too heavy or too light, it's not as accurate as my uncles Blunderbuss and that it doesn't have enough accessory rails to bolt on all the kitchen accessories that you can buy .
-
So it's ok to shoot the wretched creature if by doing so you use an unloaded Rifle?
-
WOW - stunning looking chap, you have so many great times together to look forward to - remember them all .
-
I'm also guessing that a Deer in agony by the side of the road would constitute an "excuse" - it would be daft to put a blanket ban on humanely despatching a wounded animal that was injured due to a road collision. It clearly states that it is only an offence if by doing so you " in consequence a user is injured, harmed or interrupted".

Now you need to ask ultrastu in the Airgun section - he's an expert on these IMHO a far better gun than the RM8.
-
Unless my memory is failing me - discharging a firearm within 50 feet of a highway is only illegal if it is likely to cause injury, harm to property or livestock, or something along these lines?
-
Loads of fans of the RM8 - personally I wouldn't have one if you gave it to me but if you like it - loads of the for sale which might say something?
-
As said - as long as you are both over 18 then no rules apply unless you are banned from owning a firearm - FAC doesn't really come into it as the owner is unable to sell to you anyway. You might want to ask the Mods to move this to the Airgun section and tell us about the gun and the amount you are considering spending.

Loved the Baikals - you could virtually build a T34 Tank engine using the bits of metal mixed in with the shot of a box of 50.

POPP = pensionable oldypigeonpopper?
-
Assuming you are 18 - give him the money, he gives you the gun - job done?
-
That looks like it's been rolled - it has a seam? Never seen a Damascus barrel made out of flat sheet that is the rolled! You can see the fold on the right hand side - how strange.

Bread and Butter work with a CNC Lathe.
-
Unless you want the crunch or large onion pieces you could use the Indian method of grating the onion then squeezing out the water - cooks much faster and will caramelize giving a better flavour.
-
Just goes to show what English Engineering can achieve when it tries - sublime piece of kit.

I have a box still unopened - never really found a use for them?
-
Ssssssh - had my Rangie (14 year old) over 18 months now and it's been ,pretty much, 100% reliable - parts are ridiculously expensive but then most car parts are - I buy BMW equivalent parts for the engine - about 50% cheaper than RR.
-
It's simply undercut - fairly routine practice.
-
Go for the Vauxhall equivalent part if you buy bits for the 95 aero - far cheaper than Saab - usually same part number on box and the only difference is the word Saab. Brilliant cars - got one on my drive that I don't use now I have my Rangie.

So, in theory, it's possible? Slightly damp powder - the primer has enough temperature to dry the main charge just enough to ignite? Long shot (pardon the pun) but maybe worth thinking about.

What you say regarding keeping the dogs eyes on the fall site makes perfect sense - my ESS does tend to lose the bird quite often, not helped by the fact that he seems to search using his eyes mainly and I have watched him tread on a dummy before going back and finding it. Been trying to increase his memory by making him sit then walking around him once then making eye contact before sending him to retrieve - getting there slowly. Not helped by the fact that he seems to prefer looking for the dummy more than bringing it back - tail is a blur when he's searching .
-
The good news is that, although most shooters use 0/U's, a cure is out there .
-
Just wondering if it would be possible for the primer to fire and push the load/wad a few inches down the barrel - a fraction of a second later the main charge ignites and blows the barrel apart where the metal is thinner? Just wondering if such a thing could happen?
-
Not sure if you do this or not? but my Springer has been taught to "sit up" and wait and will not go after a retrieve until I have made eye contact with him as well as giving the hand signal and verbal command.
