  1. Get one that says Anschutz on it - job done.
  2. An illuminated Rectum? Now that's going to light up the whole of your body.
  3. Air Arms S410 superlite - .22, buy a second hand one cos they are as reliable as a Vicar with a plate, look after it and get your money back when you sell. Stupidly accurate, stupidly reliable and a doddle to shoot straight.
  4. Sounds like yours is a newish vehicle? - try searching breakers and see if a good condition used part is available?
  5. Odd really how I hankered for another springer after finding PCP's just too clinical. I posted a thread a short while back about "going back to basics" as it were by buying an older Spring powered Puffstick and using it for the occasional Squirrel foray. Duly picked up a nice Original 35 (a gun I have wanted for over 30 years!) and was mightily impressed by it's condition and quality (the weight was a little surprising as was the size of the beast - always remembered them as being rather diminutive ) - Anyhoo - despite sounding rather impressive I was disappointed by the power (7ftlb) and accuracy - 2" + over 25 yards so off she went for a service. With the Mrs still swearing that £75 had somehow disappeared from the account () I got the gun back and fitted her up with a very nice period Scope courtesy of a PW member and a one piece Ebay special mount (£9!!! - new) so, finally, the fun could begin. First 100 or so shots were not showing much promise but, bit by bit, the group sizes shrunk to a point where I can put 10 in a 1" circle every time and power has settled at 10.5 with AA Fields - so I now have enough confidence in the 35 to shoot vermin.......or do I? The gun has been ready and waiting to splat Nutty now for a good few months but there is a problem that I never, in a million years, predicted - every single time I put the 35 in my gun bag to go, I always end up slipping the S410 out when I get to the woods - I have come to rely so totally on the S410 and it's ability to simply do the job time and time again that it has become an essential tool and I honestly cannot see the 35 ever leaving my garden .
  6. Well SRS - turns out I'm depressed - but only after watching your last episode. Leave mental health issues to those that know what they are talking about.
  7. Found a free greenhouse on preloved and spent the last week dismantling and re erecting the beast - it's a B&Q premier (£545) but do you think they keep spares? Do they heck. Turned the raised beds over but not ready to plant yet - looking to grow Chilies and miniature Tomatoes this year.
  8. Send it to demonwolf444 on this forum - then find something soft to fall on when it comes back - he can make that look stunning.
  9. What a bunch of spoiled Husbands you lot are - my other half reads whilst eating Wotsits in bed - puts me right off my stroke sometimes.
  10. Mmmmmm - 90% of my "victims" are shot clean off the feeder - they may associate it with danger but that's normally the last thing on their mind when they actually realise that all may not be well. If several come at once and one gets deleted then the others normally soon reappear so I'm not totally sold on the advice of not shooting them from feeders - in fact I would say that feeders are the very best place to kill them - known range and usually a hide already in situ. I have found no advantage whatsoever to setting up before sunrise - in my experience the majority of Squirrels start to feed about an hour after sunrise. Oh - and who says that you cannot shoot them in Parks?. Peanuts, Peanuts and more Peanuts is the answer - Squizzers love them - one of my Hoppers was showing little signs of use about 2 weeks ago so I made 2 trips to top up with Peanuts - had to mix them in with the Wheat - shot this last Saturday morning and found the Wheat scattered all over the floor where they had scratched at the feeder to reach the Nuts - then shot 4 (off the feeder ) in less than an hour. No wish to be argumentative, just me experience . Bap, Bap, Bap, Braaaaap - pause, Bap, Bap etc - always wondered why I got chased by Squirrels on my Moped.
  11. Nobody has their Guns cylinder tested because it is not a legal requirement - unless, of course , it is more than 500?c.c. Same logic as your suggestion applies to a few buddies teaming up and buying, say, a 12ltr 300bar bottle- the cost per fill is reduced. Whilst I can obviously see some advantages of a stand alone compressor, I still think that many people carry a tank, even if it's a smaller unit, with them in the car so you would need both.
  12. I fail to see the advantage really - from a financial or practical angle. My cylinder costs me a fiver to fill, say, 3 times a year - each top up then takes about 30 seconds unless I'm still slightly pickled from the night before. Averages out then at about £110 per 5 years ,if you use a compressor to fill your tank then you will still need to have the tank tested by law so you will be paying the same costs as me so , in fact, my Air comes in at about £75 per 5 years - How much is the compressor? Plus I don't have to face the wrath of her indoors walking thru the house with a bucket of water each time I want to top up.
  13. Highest grade Browning 425 that you can afford with 28" multi tubes - some of the higher end 425's are pure gun porn but prices are reasonable as the model is old now.
  14. WOW- seen one of these in the flesh - does it get better than this?
  15. Rubbish bullets I would guess, stick with Eley or RWS if you can get them - btw the RWS HVHP are a superb round if you ever get chance to buy some.
  16. Now there's a coincidence - I have an X type as well - 3ltr v6, one of the early ones in almost pristine condition .
  17. Try demonwolf444 on here - don't think he's far from you and if it it's made of wood and metal and goes bang then he can sort it - otherwise guy on here called barrelblacker does it for a living and never heard a bad word about his work either.
  18. Everything I said in my initial reply applies to the P38 as much as the L322 - ask 100 people about RR and 95% will say "unreliable and thirsty as well as expensive" but I doubt that the vast majority have ever owned one. Only my opinion of course but I have had virtually zero reliability issues with mine and do not find it particularly expensive to run. I do have 3 other cars though so potential break downs are not a major concern and if the RR blows itself into a million pieces tomorrow then I would recoup most of what I paid for it selling it for spares.
  19. Yes, I'm aware of that Tom - but people tend to treat all RR's as the same beast. Rarely do you read "ahh - the l322 was a good car but the L405 was terrible, don't even get me started on the P38"
  20. Now that's one relaxed looking rifle Stu - was that taken on it's Hols this year?
  21. Mines 14 years old Figgy and there is no rust anywhere - underneath looks pretty solid and even the wheel arch area hidden behind the rear doors are unblemished. The l322 tends to drip oil so I'm guessing that a fine mist of that keeps the underneath good! The 02-05 models , when BMW owned LR are regarded as having the best paintwork so that also may have helped. I read all the horror story's about RR ownership but after 18 months of ownership I have had no issues (bar one that was found the day I bought her and the repair bill picked up by my credit card company) and it's like nothing else to drive - the 4.4 V8 will run at, er, 70 mph all day with no sound but a faint hum - after about 5 minutes the car assumes it's on a Motorway and lowers itself down where the ride is like a magic carpet - steady 70 gets you 25mpg, heated seats are like armchairs - even the steering wheel is heated. Saturday before last some daft woman in a merc. backed into me at a petrol station - she's going to need a new rear bumper and boot lid - my front number plate is "crazed" .
  22. Love to know how many naysayers have actually owned one? And how many have their experience from "old Bob" down the Duck and Whistle? The Air suspension compressor is around £300 and you can fit it in minutes - they last around 80k. Exhausts are stainless steel and some body panels are Aluminium - no rust there then. Big unstressed engine can run for decades but the secret is to service regularly and predict maintenance issues before they become a potential breakdown. Consumption is something you get used to but mine only does 18mpg and I honestly don't worry about it - Tax is about £300 / year. Best advice is to get a local non franchised LR specialist to give it the once over - don't ever go to LR themselves unless you want to be fleeced. Buy spares and service parts yourself (Opie oils are very good btw) and then pay cash to have them fitted although a basic Oil service is easy enough to do yourself - my L322 uses just under 9ltrs of synthetic and I can do an Oil/filter/Air Filter change for less than £100. If you buy from a Dealer, as always, pay with your credit card.
  23. Fair enough - but the Law says it's 100% their responsibility - as you say though, not really worth it.
