Shame you're not closer - I'm near MK and have a set you could borrow for as long as you liked.

Whereabouts are you PPP?

It's arrived!! 3 days by courier and Sunday delivery is pretty good going for under 13 notes. First impressions are....spot on. It is certainly large enough for one man in full hunting apparel and plenty of room for a seat - only downside that I can really see is that the zip is blue so not sure what, if any, effect that will have. Put it up in the living room and my other half says that it is not see thru and , although she had my sympathy, I could not see her busy picking up the Christmas trinkets that my poop up had scattered under it's expansion. To be frank it's worth the money for the fun of getting it out of it's bag, the wife's bruises will heal in time whilst I am happy to simply pop my teeth back in once I've caught the Dog and got them back .

Why would you buy a Gun with known reliability issues? Even if it only let you down once every 5 years then **** law says that will be on a red letter day. You chose the right Gun in the first place - the S410 but I'm guessing the pretty lines of the R10 wooed you in the shop? - have a look at the ultimate sporter if you want eye candy. As for Regs, cannot help but think that they are of questionable benefit to 90% of people who use them - in normal hunting situations (and that's what all these guns discussed are primarily built for) a string of 50 consistent shots ( as per the majority of un-regged guns) is about 20 more than you will ever need.

TBH - Walker570, I actually have a lot to thank the man for - about 15 years ago I was having no end of trouble with the DHSS as well as my local Council when the official Benefits Doctor declared me fit for work (with Renal failure) but my own G.P. refused to fill in any job applications to that effect. JB accompanied me to a tribunal and spoke on my behalf against the DHSS claims team and was instrumental in having them fined for professional misconduct.

Indeed - apart from the derisory £77k they also have to dig deep to pay staff costs i.e. last year John Bercow only claimed £83k for his secretary .

No but, off on a slight tangent - just got my Original 35 back from a service and trying to find a pellet it likes - wasn't getting too good results (initially) with my favourite AA field so tried some H&N Barracuda Match and was amazed to see a drop of 4+ inches over 25 yards compared to AA.

Beginning to sense a smidgen of cynicism in your tone clakk regarding our glorious leaders - time we realised the sweat and tears that these poorly paid and over worked troopers endure everyday in their selfless desire to improve our lives . B*m - now I'm doing it.

No need to ***** them - put them on a tray in the oven for 10 minutes and they pop open.

Work of a genius I reckon - looking for a porta potti to go inside as well as a magazine rack to make me feel at home. Might be see thru but as long as the background is dark that should not be a problem - I also have a really lightweight camo net that I could drape over it but I don't think I will need it, time will tell. If it works then I'm going to start selling them....thinking of calling them "poop up hides"

Are you going to sharpen the Antler to a point then use it to open the "beep" plastic packaging? Or is it a cryptic clue - you have the horn for Penelope?
-
Toying with the idea of a pop up hide, but being tighter than a Ducks doodah under water, I've been thinking outside the box and come up with the idea of a camouflage pop up toilet tent - less than 13 squid on a well known auction site and I'm struggling to see why it will not do the same job? Watch this space.....

The Theoben belongs to Konor, I believe (as well as an Airsporter) but then Dekers put up a picture of his Airsporter (note the different background) - this is where you got muddled ant.mass - Dekers doesn't have a Theoben - if he did then he would never have bought the Airsporter .

So that's what a "light" load means.

The thing to remember ditchman is that the Asptr S was top of the range - in effect the ultimate BSA that was available at the time - lay that alongside the 77, which was a simple factory mass built gun, and the difference is apparent. You may fiddle away and bring the S up to the 77's level - but at the end of the day it should have been better to start with, but the quality of materials and engineering in the 77 will always show in time. How many competitions does the 77 have under it's belt. BTW - I'm not a HW fan since the 95 was born.

Cleaning your smoke pole can be easier if you simply use screen wash ( pre mixed from cheapy shops at a couple of quid for 5 litres) - whip your nipples out and put some screen wash in a bowl so you can put the breach in so far as to submerge the nipple holes then use a cloth on a jag to pump up and down sucking the wash in and out till it runs clean - pour boiling water down the barrels then let them stand, muzzle upwards, for about 5 minutes - then spray Napier Gun cleaner into the bores and jobs a goodun. Blame the dog for the smell. BP licences are fairly easy to get and are free.

Well what a frustrating weekend - there's Squirrels everywhere downt t woods but scarcely any on the feeders - I stood and watched 10+ running around in front of me this morning before spending near 2 hours traipsing around the feeders trying to find one feeding. Just sent a txt to the woodland manager and he's going to fill the Hopper in the busiest area with Peanuts to see if we can tempt them in - with colder weather forecast I'm hoping next weekend will be more productive - shot just 3 in over 4 hours these last 2 days.....not good .

Another gun suffering from rose tinted specs - the older we all get, the better it was - was king of the hill because BSA were the top selling maker and this was their top model at the time, but time moved on and BSA didn't, enter the Germans and the rest is history, as are BSA - the S was just another attempt by a failing manufacturer to match the imported guns and they even struggled to get that right - there were 3 MK's of the S before it died. Just my opinion of course.(tin hat firmly in position)

Lord Geordie - same where I live in Bucks, just about every hedge locally has been scalped to within an inch of it's life - talking to a keen bird watcher just yesterday and she was saying that millions of migratory birds starved in the UK last year due to this practice - nothing for them to eat. How hard can it be to maintain a hedgerow for the benefits of all?
-
Well now that's a first for me - I actually saw a Squirrel fall out of a Tree this morning - fair way up, I had just disturbed him feeding when he shot up a tallish Ash then attempted to jump onto the Oak where they seem to live - SNAP and the branch fell along with hapless Nutty - lovely hollow thump as he hit the deck, followed closely by said branch, then he simply bolted back up the Tree non the worse for the experience.
-
OMG - what a faux pas I have been guilty of - I've been using my SxS during weekdays as well as weekends never realising that the gun was intended for the odd "fun" outing (like, apparently, my Porsche) - is this guy broken? Why does he mount the gun half way down his chest?
-
Until we see proof I'm going to accredit one of yours to your Scotties

I often have the same problem with TVP - I have to ring for a URN (unique reference number) before I can shoot and, for example, on Saturday it took 20 minutes to get through . Funnily enough on Saturday I had a newbie PC and she asked me to describe my gun - she simply failed to find my answer of "beautiful" funny.
-
Took the Dog and Daughter out for a walk down the woods today ( both on a lead!) - nearly tripped over the bloomin Squirrels running around - I've shot 14 here in the last few weeks and they are still everywhere - had 4 on Saturday from one feeder and there was 4 more there today playing silly bu**ers in the trees .
