  1. The Cooey was a far better gun!!
  2. Now you need to take care of yourself, eejit - sounds like it may have been curtains but for the grace of God and the Emergency services. Brings me to tears sometimes when I see these guys at work. Get yourself sorted and let those around you care for you till you are back to full strength - very best of luck.
  3. That's not good lancer425 - mine is far superior and averages 17mpg - we actually stopped once for a mini celebration when the readout proudly displayed 18mpg. It's not just the fuel with a RR though - it's the cost of the bits that break or simply fall off as you drive along, Wing mirror, for example, just over £800.
  4. Bought an early ish Range Rover 4.4 petrol - nothing like it to drive and will go thru any terrain you care to mention - unfortunately the Fuel Tanker that I have following cannot .

    Dentists

I'm all for fining people if they fail to turn up for an appointment as long as I can do the same if I am kept waiting for hours or my appointment is cancelled.
  6. Any thoughts on the Sako Quad on G/Trader - guys asking £300 which seems like a good price - been in touch and the seller says that the gun was shortened by a Gunsmith and that the choke was retained - work cost him in the region of £600 in total and he assures me that accuracy has not been affected at all.
  7. "potting Rabbits in the garden"......I cant even get Broad Beans to grow.
  8. That's a very kind offer Zetter and would love the opportunity to whazz a few rounds into the blue yonder but ,at the moment, I'm in the planning stages so don't want to waste your time ( I am genuinely grateful for your offer though) - I seem to have decided that I want a heavy "varmint" type barrel (most likely of absolutely no advantage whatsoever) and there is a T bolt on G/Trader that looks good. Trigger is not a huge problem as I have a very good Gunsmith and the obvious choice of a CZ (already have a .22lr 452) is coming a close second. To recap - varmint barrel, wood stock and decent scope rails are winning the desirability stakes and quite happy to buy a complete used set up.
  9. Just applied for a variation to allow .17 hmr and have stipulated "Bolt Action"- now like the look of the Browning T bolt but does it come under "bolt action" description?
  10. My .22 is set at approx. 20 yards!!! Seems to hold pretty true up to about 30 then I simply hold over. I shot for more years than I care to remember with a .22 Air Rifle and hold over became second nature - when I "upgraded" to a .22RF it took months to adjust to the different trajectory as the Airguns was imprinted in my bonce - just put in for a .17HMR so the fun is about to start again.

    Aldi

das - have ordered said machine and should be up and running later next week - if the coffee that you suggest does not slip down like syrup and then keep me awake for a whole episode of "Death in Paradise" then you will be off my Christmas card list .
  13. I hate leaving home without the Mrs - I have to kiss her Goodbye .

    Aldi

Been shopping at Aldi for over 20 years - some things simply don't taste the same, it's no different to buying something other than your usual brand from, say, Tesco then moaning that it tastes different, I bought Aldi coffee and didn't like it (I'm on a life's quest to find one that I will stick with) so I have been pouring it into my wife's Gold Blend jar and she hasn't noticed (thankfully she doesn't read my posts) - as for Bacon - did you pick up the Bacon Pieces by chance, these are off cuts from the end of a piece of meat that are different sizes and thicknesses, if you pay a little more for the 14 slice pack then you will stop wasting your money at M&S. Most often heard complaint seems to be a lack of choice - might be worth remembering that you are paying a premium to shop at an outlet that stocks 30 different flavour Toothpastes when you only ever buy one anyway. Some Aldi food is not as "good" as other products by other Supermarkets but it works both ways - Tesco Ham is over priced and flavourless - compare it to Aldi's. I guess it comes down to how much you are willing to accept something different and if that's worth the 30% ish saving.
  16. figgy - opening the bathroom window, even enough to squeeze a fag paper thru, will turn your danglies into Castanets - I swear that there's nothing between our Bathroom window and the Urals.
  17. We did the same to our bathroom a couple of years back - despite having an extractor fan that will rip your scalp off (inside the shower cubicle) we still get problems with mould in the winter so I would highly recommend an anti mould type paint - we have no issues during the summer months but have to run a Dehumidifier for an hour after every shower in the colder months.
  18. Agree with the high fat causing the problem - our Spaniel first went down with it when given a load of Roast Lamb (covered in Fat) left over from a local Carvery . Did you look at the Lukulus Gustico? Get ours from Bitiba online at a reasonable cost (but it's not cheap - going to be around £2/day) and it's really firm as well as smelling so nice that it's hard not to put your finger in and try it.
  19. You might consider making your own food - we have made various low fat meals for our Dogs with great success and you know exactly what's going in them - low fat mince with Sweet Potatoes and left over Veg goes down well - if your Dog is struggling to pass stools you might try adding Pumpkin Puree (Waitrose) as this seems effective, about 1/3 can a day seems to do the trick. Best of luck, Pancreatitis is not a pleasant ailment so endure. As an after thought - have a look at the Lukulus Gusteco (spelling?) range - I swear by this range of food and it might be suitable?
  20. Is it possible to open the cylinder and out a pellet direct into the breach before loading up the dummy shell and firing it?-might help resolve if it's an indexing error.
  21. I must admit to thinking the same, seem to recall most were made by Gorosable in Spain then finished in the UK?
  22. Stable Door, Bolting Horse but would a washer have been a good idea - could you perhaps put a black washer underneath the stud now?
  23. Fairly easy job to do yourself - few simple tools and simply replacing the Spring and Washer should restore her to her former glory. I would suggest that you check the power afterwards just to be on the safe side.
  24. Bit naff in my opinion, sort of thing you expect to see in the states - best place for them.
