  1. Any gease will do-the thread is not subject to air pressure of any significance.
  2. Assylum seekers-it is totally illegal under European law for them to stay here-they MUST be given a safe haven at the very first neutral country they enter-how can that be the uk? We should send them straight back to France.
  3. Dont most of these have a captive ball bearing in them that "ratchets" against serrated disc on the fore-end?
  4. I can guarantee that if you all spent the rest of your lives searching the universe with the most sophisticated equipment available now,and for the next millenium, you would not find anybody who cares less about the silly tart than me
  5. Can you still get trigger "shoes"?-like a small bolt on wide section of curved trigger.
  6. If you are refering to me,derbyduck, you need to wind your neck in-I've given good advice regarding the blackstuff and my final comment was an attempt at humour (wasted on some, obviously) If the OP takes offence at my post I will gladly apologise and remove it-if he needa a mouthpiece, however,I'm sure he will be in touch,,,,
  7. thanks for the replies-I've never had any problems selling guns on here before-usually spot on but I,m glad its sorted now.
  8. Put an advert on Gunwatch yesterday morning (sun) and it still is'nt on PW-how long does it normally take?
  9. What gun was it m8-and where did you leave ,I could erm....pick it up for you
  10. His body was discovered early this morning,a police spokesman said that recognition was difficult because crows had fed on it for several hours.A shotgun and every form of decoying paraphernalia was found nearby but no cartridges-whoops.
  11. For that kind of money I would go for something used, check out Guntrader but you may have to be prepared to travel for the best guns.A lot of peple say that the Hatsans are very good for the money but I have no experience of them-I,m sure someone will comment shortly-best of luck.
  12. If your trigger is inconsistent then accuracy is out of the window-with a springer (or gas ram) the trigger is second only to the barrel in terms of importance,The "Record" unit on your gun is one of the best ever made and should be perfect, check out youtube and see if there are any tips on setting the unit up.Forget pointed pellets if you want long range accuracy-go for a good quality domehead, you might save a few pennies by buying a sample pack or just ask your nearest dealer what he would recommend.Hang on in there-the gun will serve you well.
  13. If you decide to try the Tampon solution make sure you get the ones that enable you to Ski,Swim and Socialise-this will give you loads more hobbies and relieve the boredom. If you are going to continue shooting I would avoid the ones with wings.
  14. "Crows are attacking freshly planted wheat with my shotgun" Wow thats some serious crows!!! Birds are most likely Rooks m8 and can be a pain to fool into coming within range.Normal scenario is to shoot one or two after which word get round on the bush telegraph and you dont see another one in range until the second you A/ Take a leak B/Put your gun down to improve your hide or C/ plant your backside onto the seat of your car.Buy some flocked decoys and make sure the sun is behind you when building your hide.Get the most comprehensive cammo gear that you can afford ~(including a face veil)-a crow can tell what colour eyes you have before you are even aware that its in the vicinity.Spend time watching where they are feeding or where the flight line is the day before you shoot-make your recce as late as possible because things change by the hour.A dead Rabbit with its insides hanging out can work-better if you have a decoy Magpie in a nearby bush as well.In my experience ,once you get about 10 the rest seem to get easier but the first 10 are rarely easy.I,ve seen some good results recently with a chap using a stuffed Fox standing over a dead bird-could be worth considering.Good luck and let us know how it goes.
  15. Stopped at the services near Warwick and went for a pee.The toilets are big and theres about 20 or so urinals both sides of the wall. The place was well busy as I found a space and proceeded to open my jeans (button hole) to pop the old chap out.It was then that I experienced the dissadvantage of button fly jeans-you have to undo the main button as well-so after a few seconds standing there with both hands directing proceedings my jeans, along with my boxers, decide to head south and settle themselves around my ankles,I had no choice but to stand there for a while as people laughed their heads off
  16. If you intend to use the gun for pest control then it needs to be powerfull enough to kill cleanly and obviousley accurate enough to put the pellet in the right place.Chances are that you will need a scoped gun so your budget is going to be tight-I think that a new gun of any quality is a bridge too far. A quick look on guntrader does'nt reveal a plethora of possibilities but if it were my money I would enquire about the condition of the Annie 335 and then shop around for a used scope or look at the older (english built ) BSA Meteors.
  17. Thick piece of leather and 5 minutes with a copper mallet then sell/px it and get another one
  18. I loved the comment about Brownings being made by Suzuki but I cannot help but wonder who made the brand new SilPig I bought back in August. The wood seemed to have been fitted to the wrong action (it was really that bad) and the safety catch needed both of my thumbs to get it to move (my local Gunsmith reckons he has had quite a few with the same fault) so all in all I was not impressed.Returned it to the dealer and bought the new 525 as the Gd1 now boasts the engraving of the previous Gd3 and looks darned pretty as well as top quality.I loved the feel of the Beretta and would have kept it had the quality been on par with the price tag.
  19. Buy a cheap o/u from wabbitbosher for about the £100 mark and keep adding to the remaining money. If you are going to fall over, stand on bend or break your gun doing stupid things its best to do it with a cheap one.By the time you need a "decent" gun you will have the money and experience to get the best from it-you then need to decide if you want one gun for the rest of your life or are you going to want a change every now and then.If you decide on a "keeper" then it needs to be a Browning Beretta etc.
  20. People still getting confused with the cost of hanging-it is more expensive to hang a man than to keep him behind bars for life,by the time the legal teams and prosecution lawyers have been to court several times with pleas for cleamancy, new evidence etc its cost a kings ransom.
  21. No reply to pm m8-still waiting for payment details??
  22. Pleeeeeeease dont take this the wrong way but how can you live in Cambs. and not have shed loads of land to shoot over? Whenever we go up there vermin shooting we seem to come back with more land-I love it
