  2. 18 yrs ago an old (now sadly deceased) friend of mine had a suzuki gsx 1100er he always claimed the engines were bombproof i borrowed it one day and bottled out at 120 mph on the m56 they certainly make good engines

  5. This is not too strange for a request. I taught a night school class on family history last year and a lady turned up with the same sort of request! 192.com is a reasonable place to start, it uses phone directories and electoral roll records An classified advert in a popular scottish paper personal column?? Are they likely to be on Friends Reunited?? or Facebook?? Is he likely to be a member of the university alumni association where he studied??
  6. the cr*ppy builder i had 7 yrs ago manged to get silt in the new water main this may have something to do with it i'll pass on these comments to my tame plumber and get him to sort something out mmm very interesting..
  7. cat litter is made from fullers earth, an absorbant clay we had 'puffers' of fullers earth in our 'blot bang rub' kits for chemical warfare fullers earth will remove the red dye i played around with it a good number of years ago i dont think i would risk veg oil in a modern diesel but an old one would certainly take it declaring to the excise of course
  8. omg is it repairable or am i looking at a new boiler? (sorry for hijacking thread)
  9. This is interesting as i have a similar problem. A combi boiler that i realise that i have been over-pressuring when i switch the hot water off at the tap when the cent heating is on starts making lots of banging and vents off steam. I have been convninced that i have a leak since the pressure drops over time as well but no evidence of water drips
  10. with regard to using 'racing red' diesel fullers earth will remove the dye but the hm excise take a dim view and have been known to give out hefty fines i am fairly sure that pira in n.ireland had a scam with removing the dye a number of years ago
  11. 109.9p Maghull Mersyside Seems cheap to me???

  15. Hello Joe, this has certainly been an interesting discussion. I am sorry for your family's loss. My great-uncle died in a shooting accident so we have always been very concious about weapon handling/storage etc. Common sense is the main approach that is needed Basic weapon handling rules and keeping the weapons out of sight are the starting points As i said this has been very interesting to read Cheers

    Hip Flasks

Agree So if shooting I take a stainless flask of hot choc. If not then 'Ginger Wine' mmmm... Incidentally the gov't ban on hunting with dogs drove me further towards shooting. Having a couple of 'tots' with my lurcher made it a bit more exiciting...
  17. There is a lot to be said for a carbine and nice position. I have a AA410K and find that it is more than adequate for 'jobs'. As with any PCP it is well worth budgetting for an air bottle.

25 years ago piracy was 'tape to tape' copying of ZX Spectrum computer games. Mmmm, does this show my age??
  19. To quote Jules Winfield from Pulp Fiction: Well, if you like hamburgers give 'em a try sometime. Me, I can't usually eat 'em 'cause my girlfriend's a vegetarian. Which more or less makes me a vegetarian, but I sure love the taste of a good burger.
  20. Telly has been very poor this Xmas. Have spent the day reading several Brian Plummer books that I recieved as Xmas presents over 20 yrs ago!! Oh.. just noticed Scarface has started, hope the power holds out, we've had a couple of power cuts this evening
  21. Merry Christmas... ..is that a brass spittoon that I see in one of the photos???
  22. I'm in a similar position, I don't think that the cost is justified though, might as well put the money toward a shottie in better condition.
  23. We were both ill yesterday, so the duck has only just gone in the oven!! Still feel ill so it will re-surface as chinese stir fry duck tomorrow!!
